I grew up in Pittsburgh. My dad would always yell upstairs he needed kindling for the fireplace. "Justin, grab da Penny Saver, and junk mail I need kindling for da fireplace n'at before da 8'o'clock game! It's cold as hell in this living room!"

I recall when I was REAL little using one with mom and my older bro ours had a little cup on the top to melt butter as you cooked the popcorn we would fight over said butter before watching a movie on VHS I'm probably the last generation to recall VHS/blockbuster since both died right about middle school

I don't know my home OR cell number. Once I program a number into contacts, that's it, Instantly forgotten. I can remember my home phone number from when I was a kid in 1971, But I'll be damned if I know what ANYONE'S number is now.

Oh my goodness! My parents sold an old ringer-washing machine through the penny saver! It was just like sitting in our basement for years, and someone told my dad that “yuppies buy those to use for decoration.” And low and behold, a yuppie couple actually came to our house, and bought it for decoration!
