I love your videos. My wife and I both have a Vanquish 540. I have learned a lot from your videos. We are still cherry picking and have gotten about $150 in quarters since we have had them in 6 weeks. No silver. Dimes scream after a rain. I tried detecting an old festival park yesterday. Tones were crazy. Never steady. I dug 6 and all deep cans. I will go back this week. Thanks for your insight. Appreciate bunch!

Great job with the hunt, Joe - glad you were able to top your personal best with the silver coin finds. Given the size of the yard, it's possible a family living there in the 1940s buried coins around the yard for the kids to dig up for fun (my folks used to do that when I was growing up). Either that, or someone's pockets were full of holes during playtime. 😉 Given the age of the building, I thought for sure you would've turned up a Barber or IHP in your digs. It looks like you still have some more of the yard to cover, so hopefully you get a second crack at it. What a awesome hunt with all that silver. Thanks for the tip on using the Vanquish 540 in jewelry mode. I got my Vanquish out this last week and found a 1911 V nickel and 1920 buffalo nickel. The depth is awesome on this machine.

Just checked to see how much a silver dime is worth. Instead of being $0.10 as it would normally be if spent normally, they can be melted down to be worth $1.05, so that's actually pretty damn awesome. :) That's a lot of great finds in such a tiny area. Thanks for sharing! Getting me hyped up to get started with metal detecting, lol.

Just saw the video, just wow! 10 silvers and 42 wheats. Other than the bottle cap what other trash did you find? I know this is a unusual question about trash, but also what shovel are you using? I just bought a 540 about a month ago, just as the freezing weather showed up. Now it's all covered in snow and the ground is still frozen.
