This was the best to-the-point description of PRT. Way less confusing than many other attempts.

As a parent going through PRT with my child, I'm learning to do PRT at home with our therapist which lends to tones of opportunity. When she mentioned only having a couple hours, does that mean aba and IBI are just done without a parent present so you can't keep doing those skills anywhere but in a room with a clinician? The information that was presented in this video doesn't sound like what we're going through.

Very good representation within a short time. Unfortunately, the ABA world today is producing a whole generation that knows only discrete trial teaching and when it is not successful for some children, they are at a total loss of what to do. Only one point that I made me cringe. It is not "play based." It is child led, which is not the same. The principles are all being applied like any ABA program but it is based on "capturing MO's" that is, using what the child is interested in, naturalistic reinforcers, etc. When you say, "play based" it sounds like hokey "play therapy" which it's not.
