I had a Galaxy S21 for a year and a half and just upgraded to the Ultra about a month ago. WOW! What a phone! The camera is AMAZING. The video is clean, clear and crisp. Even in low light.
Even after so much time has passed s21 is still killing them ...the new ones ...wait for s22 it will overkill them😂...it has note features too.....new chip
The best part about having all the upgraded hardware installed into the hands of users is that the software updates can keep flowing in and adjusting the newest hardware to be better and better. How often Google pays attention to this and releases updates will tell how great a phone the Pixel 6 will become
It's personal preference. Some might actually like natural looking pics like myself. I want my still memories to look exactly how I was when I took the picture not looking orange or yellow
I am tempted to try a Pixel 6 Pro due to its Pixel exclusive software features, but screen quality and camera zoom reign as my most important deciding factors. I'll be waiting for the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The screen on the pixel is absolutely stunning tbh. The camera system def needs more updates but they're pushing them often. I recently got the pro and in 2 days had 4 software updates 😅 they're doing what they can to fix a lot of the issues pointed out by the consumers. But the screen is def on par with the Samsungs I gotta say. 1440p @ 120hz is beautiful
@@omenekennedy4746 I get it. But a phone is more than an accessory or communication tool for me. I'm legally blind, and I use the zoom cameras on Samsung's Ultra phones to see things that I'm unable to otherwise.
I was a little over-excited about the pixel after a couple of video reviews. But after this, I can have a more neutral opinion about them all because now I not only the pros but also the cons of each one of them. This video approaches various aspects of the phones with a very unbiased opinion. This really helped. Amazing content!!
Great review ! I went from Pixel 4A (which I really like) to 6Pro......love the 4x zoom, which even looks amazing as 10x. But, I agree with your findings regarding consistency and also (still) prefer the selfie pictures on the iPhone. With case the 6Pro is really quite large and I'm still debating whether or not to keep it. I wish they would have made a 6" or 6.2" version.
Google did a massive upgrade to the hardware but I think they still haven't optimized the software for it. I think their camera software is still working on the previous Pixel camera modules which were alot smaller which is why there are inconsistencies in some shots. The good thing Google is a software company first....and with monthly updates and Feature Drops, the camera will get better.
Good series of tests. What is missing, especially with respect to the Pixel 6 line, are portraits of people with a range of skin tones. Google claimed to have really worked on this, and it would be useful to see if these claims hold up, and also how the Pixel compares to other cameras.
Is amazing how smart phones cameras are getting more capable this days. You can’t go wrong with either of the three but as always, people have preferences. Great review ❤️
What I find strange is that your Pixel has a yellow tint across all of the photos. I have only seen this yellow tint on yours but not on other RU-vidr's Pixel 6 Pro. I wonder if it is a software setting or something else that is throwing off the color balance on your pixel?
Yes, I am waiting for my Pixel6Pro to be delivered in mid-December. I am confident, with software updates, Google will fine tune the cameras. The camera hardware is already excellent.
I've got the p6 pro ,came from a s21 ultra ,trust me the p6 pro is much better ,camera is immense ,it goes to 20 X zoom and keeps quality ,the 100 X zoom on the s21 is a waste of time ,it's just a set of binoculars. Also the motion photo on p6 looks amazing ,finger print scanner is absolutely fine ,don't listen to the nonsense.
1:11 pixel is the only phone that doesn't blur the people in the back! Probably has something to do with aperture, all the new phones do that and i hate it for past few years.
I'm a pixel fan, but how does the pixel pro and iPhone pro get the "pro" designation when compared to something like the Sony experia pro also would love to see a comparison with all these phones and the Sony experia pro.
The 21 ultra wins for me. I wanted the pixel but the photos are far to flat. They loose all contrast what so ever. The s21 ultra has that perfect image in my own opinion
From a guy who has used s8 and then 11 pro i feel you don’t really need to worry about camera performance as an average consumer , all premium phones have good enough camera . Its more about how you edit these photos that matters.
I just wanna say, for somebody that has owned one of these phones, has the other, and has owned many other Galaxies, iPhone's, and Pixel's in the past: lighting conditions can completely change how a phone handles the overall processing, and there's no real camera comparison that can accurately capture all the nuances in environmental and lighting conditions, although they do give us a great baseline to work from. I preferred the S21 Ultra over the other two here, but having owned one I know I certainly prefer iPhone's consistency, overall. I will also say after Google transitioned from fixed focus from laser auto focus, it's selfie camera has fallen out of favor with me, and I do give S21 Ultra the crown in terms of these 3 phones, in that department. But Google 's still king in terms of software features and overall color accuracy/science.
You are literally the ONLY ONE who has mentioned the fixed focus selfie camera on the Pixel. Why is no big reviewer addressing this as an issue? It's a BIG issue.
From a video perspective, it would have been nice to have engaged Google's noise suppression which would make the rest of the sound on the beach much more manageable. Additionally, the pixel supports natively a Bluetooth microphone, so you could use earbuds, a smartwatch, or if you really wanted to get fancy, a dedicated microphone in order to get far, far better sound quality in a noisy environment.
people keep saying they'll improve the pixel 6's camera with software updates, but does that actually happen? I heard they never really did that for the previous Pixel phones.
Paused at 2:25 but so far to me G.P.6 works with the lighting around you. The closer you are to a light bulb the better the camera adjusts to the persons features
Pixel has the hardware and with time and updates I think it will only get better. Pure Google is amazing, I've been waiting for years to replace my Pixel 2XL, can't wait to buy this phone!
Yes, ignore the fandom comments, all three are great and it goes back and forth. I would honestly say that on photos there is no compelling reason to favour any of these unless you really need that extra zoom (hardly use, but some people may). In videography the iPhone is just ahead of the S21U with the Pixel a lot closer than it has ever been. Some subjective differences as well like night mode, I do not like Google’s take of making them looking light day, but this is not that important for me. So cameras not a deciding factor to choose any of these IMHO.
A helpful video; thanks! I got a Pixel 6 but am trading it in for an S21 instead because I want the "Link to Windows" feature on the Samsungs which looks very useful - don't have to look at the phone so much while on the computer. It's good to know from this video that I'm not losing anything in the camera department by switching to the S21, and in fact, the S21 pics look better to me, to my surprise.
My Note 9 battery just went south. Ordered the Pixel Pro. Over $1000 sticker price is quite a lot. With a trade in got over $300 off. It'll do for a while at that price.
The pixel will undoubtedly improve considerably with software updates. This is a new camera hardware they're using, they need a bit more time to optimise the camera algorithm.
@@jiayouazhary true but it seems all newly released phones have some kind of issues. I see complaints no matter what phone. Software is always evolving, that’s just the way it is.
S21 U is easily winner , great front and back camera , not to mention the various features like Director mode, the most versatile camera. I think google has reached its software tweak peak. S21U and iphone are almost equally good quality hence you can go for either
Great Comparison 👍🏻 Suggestion, Please replace the word, "Cheaper" with 'Less Expensive' 🙂 Thank You, JaneLee - in Suburban Philadelphia Pennsylvania, USA 12/6/21
If the reviewer paid attention to the camera specs, he would have saw there is macro but on the zoom lens. It works incredibly well. I think some of his results may have been from not being to handy with doing pics.
I got the Pixel 6 Pro and to be honest the colors are more true to life. And I don't know about your device, but mines shoot some amazing photos and videos are a lot better. Used it for vlogging!
@@ashtonsequeira9757 - Other reviewers are showing that the Pixel 6 Pro produced the more desirable images and videos. I can't help but think this reviewer either received a defective Pixel or he didn't update the phone.
Great review, thank you. They all have their pros and cons. There's no clear winner for me. I've always been an Android user and have had Samsung and Google phones and have always liked them and the cameras. I'm finally considering an iPhone though because I want a phone with optical zoom and macro capabilities (even if it's using the telephoto as a work around) that isn't a giant brick with an awkward curved screen. The 6 pro and the s21 ultra are just massive. The size of the 13 pro and the great battery life might finally pull me over to the iPhone world.
I'm in the same boat. I was ready to upgrade from my old pixel 3a but the size of the 6 is just a no-go for me, especially considering that for all the supposed improvements the Pixel is still basically at par with the competition. Sort of let down after all the hype. Maybe if they bring back a smaller and lighter model again for the 6a I'd consider but for now the iPhone is looking more and more tempting.
Battery life? Lol, iPhone has the worst ba3 of the 3, and talking size it also has the most blunt design.. Just say u want to try an iPhone.. I will advice u to try Old models coz new ones are outright waste of your money..
Got the 6 pro. Minor issues but really pleased and have hundreds more bucks in my pocket. Software updates will likely fix the few bugs and I'm sure will add more features. I know a Magic eraser type thing is available third party but the Pixel one is simply amazing on most pix I've tried it on.
@@jessiebirax9152 He just said that the iPhone makes the best pictures and videos, and it ALWAYS did for that matter, unlike ANY OTHER phone. Not to mention the overall feel of the phone, second to none. Furthermore, it is also the toughest phone today with that ceramic coating and you can also put it underwater at over 6 meters. It is definetly not mediocre at all. Keep buying those kitsch Samsungs or whatever, they pollute this world like shit, having so many models badly built.
You didn't mention the software tricks for removing someone from the photo and fixing blurred photos they are very important factors in photography and neither the S22 ultra or the iPhone have them
Google absolutely nailed it here (as expected). And it's the cheapest one of the three, offers that premium Stock Android experience and has useful features not found on the S21 Ultra and iPhone. Great job Google.
Ehh, I think people want to like the pixel so they defend how subpar it Is compared to the others. Especially considering how much android fans hate iPhones.
@@ILoveGrilledCheese - It's really not "subpar." The Pixel has always had the best camera when compared to a Samsung and iPhone. I returned the S21 Ultra I had for 13 days for the Pixel 6 Pro and I do not miss the Samsung at all.
@@moya9450 - Sure did, and I've also watched many other camera comparison videos. The Pixel 6 Pro does indeed produce richer, more desirable results out of the 3. The S21 Ultra is the worst of them.
Well I think all the phones have their disadvantages especially in the camera department, the iPhone and the Galaxy may be consistent in some shots but consistency does not mean great, while the Pixel tries to give you an overall shift from that and tried to adapt to the environment you are in instead of keeping things the same and like the other does and mess up the image. In videos both the Galaxy and Pixel still have a long way to go especially with noise reduction and stabilization, and well as the white balance, and the iPhone still needs to improve on its zoom range in videos and skin colors, well I think they all have to improve on that.
I'm using 4XL and I can shoot good photos at night and even daylight. I think the way the user tweaks the camera is the problem if he/she doesn't even know how to take better Photos. And I like the Pixel results not too warm, therefore I can enhance well in GPhotos accdg to my preference.😀
