“Down To The Well” is one of the earliest tracks written by the Pixies. It was part of the 17 tracks recorded for “The Purple Tape” that was split into an initial EP (Come On Pilgrim) and a 2002 release (Pixies). It was excluded from release at that time along with many other songs that would eventually appear on other albums such as Subbacultcha, Break My Body, and Here Comes Your Man.
