Paz seems like a sweetie and she honestly has had some big shoes to fill and on a technical skill she has, totally, but nothing, man, nothing will beat Kim Deal. She was the real *ahem* deal.

On a technical side, the pixies' basslines aren't very demanding.... it's even quite easy to play. And i'm pretty sure that most people wouldn't hear the difference without seeing that this isn't Kim playing.

there is a huge difference - Paz try to play bass - Kim Deal played very simple notes, but with sliding technique - her effort is missing from the new songs very much

I LOVE Kim, don't get me wrong, and she wrote these lines. They're her lines. However, I was looking for the best live version of Gouge Away and I have to say that all the ones with Kim (at least since the reunion on) the bass playing was kinda shit. She was pretty sloppy both with her tempo and with her left hand. Back in the day they were all a little more punk so it didn't stand out as much, or maybe she lost something, I dunno, but Paz is honestly doing the job better IMO.

Awesome! One of the best, if not The Best rhythm sections in rock apart from The Who (original) and I mean now, no disrespect to Kim, but Paz is solid as a rock! Big boots to fill and she's done it. Saw the gig at Alexandra Palace and it was the best that I've seen them since the late '80's. One of the most special gigs in my 60 years!!!❤️🤘

Francis' pipes may have sprung a leak, and this is not the real Deal, but they did a great job of building up the drama for this, perhaps the greatest Pixies song, which is still blowing my mind after 30 years.
