run i finally didnt mess up entirely on but i really need to work on some of the later levels i think its a long battle since you gotta play for 2 hours probably idk i think lol
I noticed a small time save you could make in Ancient Cheese. In the first room to the left of the exit, That little spot with the bell locked above John blocks has a breakable wall to the right of it, letting you skip the loop entirely and get to the door faster
I’m currently running 100 percent as well with a pb of 02:45, and I’m wondering what’s your opinion on S ranking certain levels. It seems clear that some are more lenient for points than others. How do you strategize the way you collect points for each level? Like levels that are harder to hit the S point threshold versus others. For instance it seems like pizzascare and don’t make a sound have very little room for dropping your combo. Do you have a system for determining what collectibles to pick us versus leaving behind?
idk i just kinda wing it and grab stuff in the way while keeping a high combo but ill like try and grab more out of the way stuff if i lost the combo or feel like i need points for whatever reason and yeah some levels are def harder to get the S rank on i think but im like robot and cant remember (died)
Having just completed all P-ranks on my first save while more or less going for everything in the levels, it’s interesting to see how much can be skipped in each level while still achieving S/P-rank. Congrats on an awesome run!
This video is why I love society. Everyone loves to use their time differently. I watch people do creative stuff. This man 100 percents the entire pizza tower game.
It’s almost shocking how masterful this game is. It’s genuinely one of the best games I have EVER played, if this doesn’t get something for GotY I’m gonna go crazy. Like seriously, Celeste is a 9/10 bordering on a 10/10, Pizza Tower is a 17/10 bordering on a 18/10. And seeing this game have a speed running community, a bunch of silly memes, and a great community really puts a smile on my face. G freaking G.
IF YOU ALREADY KNOW THE STRATS ON THE FAKE PEPPINO BOSS THEN DONT READ THIS IT WILL WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! Just a small piece of tech for you (even though you probably know already) , During the fake peppino boss fight if you wall climb all the way to the top and start doing the grab glitch he cannot grab you on his first attack sequence. (the attack where the darker clothed peppino's try to grab you.) and also in this fight during his second attack sequence (the one where he turns into a frog like creature and jumps like an arcing motion). You can just stand in the middle and he cannot hit you!
You could shave off more time by doing a trick with Pizza Face's first phase. Right when he spawns an enemy, because they all spawn stunned, jump and immediately hit grab after the jump. Hold up and a little bit towards the direction that pizza face is floating in. Holding up while in the grab dash tells the game that you're going to do the same kind of move of when you press down with an enemy in the air, but it sends you upwards beforehand. When you make contact with pizza face in this state he will immediately take damage. If done correctly the first phase can be done much much faster.
Did you know that you can skip the win animations? I'm not sure how you do it, but I watched other speedruns and they did it by going to the exit door, pausing, then exiting the level.
Yes, it's required to get the Quick as Hell ranking. Tho you'd have to skip a lot of things to get to the end, and you'd subsequently lose the 95%+ required for the Holy S**t ranking (which overrides Quick as Hell if you pull it off under two hours). It's probably possible to do Holy S**t in under 2 hours but it'd probably be quite difficult.
