IMO Old ending is much better. Stays in the tone of the previous part which makes it feel more like it desperation and uses piano which i'll never dislike. Fill it up more and its perfect. In fact, it makes me wonder if anyone can combine final Death i deservioli with the ending of this one
although this video is tagged as being from the eggplant build era, the final version of The Death That I Deservioli was finished at the very end of 2021, meaning this iteration is much more likely to be from the time of the September 2021 build. the one actually in the files for eggplant was likely either the older 2019 iteration or just the final ( assuming it is even there to begin with ). then again I could be completely wrong and it wouldn't at all be the first time an outdated copy of a song was left in the files of a build. actually on the topic of this iteration I think the midsection of the song in this version is cleaner than the final version. I think it's weird that the peak of the guitar in the final gets sort of muffled instead of being let play out like it is in this version because it kinda spoils the riff progression imo. the ending is a cool alternative but I do think it is a bit out of place with the musical style that sauceman was pulling through in the last year and a half of development.
