I have PKU and have had 5 children. I’ve had to follow many different phe tolerances because of this. I’ve had to be very strategic about eating the right foods at the right times. I can very much relate to being in the grocery store and literally bursting into tears because I spend so much time reading labels only to find the majority of foods are not suitable for the low phe diet. Also, I am not on FB, so I find RU-vid resources to be really valuable. Thanks for sharing!
i am crying tears of joy!! my baby girl is almost 2yrs old and this has been so helpful... i am always trying to look for new foods for my little one since she has very limited and love limes, spicy, and fresh foods! thank you for such an amazing channel!!
You're at 500 subscribers! Congrats! I always get tempted when I'm with someone having higher protein snacks..but I always make sure to have a better option available for me.. I also love gluten free pretzels.. can't wait for the jambalaya recipe next week!
Thank you!! I'm so thankful that people are finding the videos and finding them helpful because they sure take a lot of work. I love the jambalaya...hope you do too!
How are you so pretty and organised? I have dark circles, pale skin, and I hate going food shopping because I always end up having meltdowns looking at all the foods I can't have!
Thank you!! It's makeup. Lots of makeup hahaha. I've had a ton of meltdowns in grocery stores before, too. I literally make a list now of things I know I can have and don't let myself look at anything else because if I do...then, I'll have 5 jumbo sized Cheeto bags coming home with me and I'll want to eat them in one sitting. I know some PKU people who literally get their food only off of Amazon Fresh because they can't handle the grocery store.
Not a person with PKU here, but I grow a big garden every year and sometimes I get overwhelmed with produce. PKU cooks know how to make things taste AMAZING for next to nothing, so I incorporate those recipes.
It's so easy to grab pre-cut veggies when you're on the run! What a genius idea! Also, I LOVE the pioneer woman. I watched her for an hour and a half this weekend.
Thank you, I'm so glad you love them! Oh no! You're not the first to tell me this...my mother in law was just mentioning that she used to get emails when the videos would post and now she doesn't. I wish I had a clue as to why that's happening!!
Subscribed! So thankful for this channel. My little nephew has Pku and he’s 3 now. I got custody of him after his mother/my sister passed away at 20 years old. It’s been so hard finding good foods for him to have that is not high in proteins and in stores it’s like everything is designed to be against anyone with this disease. Can’t wait to try out some of your recipes for him.
Thank you I have PKU also I'm 53 and I always like to eat a fresh vegetables they're better than can I hate can fresh vegetables always taste better when you're cooking thank you for your video
