I was diagnosed age 24 and I’ll be 70 in 3 weeks time. Oh list upon list foods information etc. you know what? I eat everything in moderation. The worse trigger is STRESS.
I ve diagnosed at 16 Now I am 29..but still struggling with difficulty... Why should i live with this disease...my patience lost day by day...I pray for the god..no one never got this..
I have Lupus,Fibromyalgia, and heart disease. I noticed some foods when i am eating. i felt tired and no energy, like eggs, meat, fish, chicken, yogurt, tins foods. But when i told docter they not believed. I am eating more fruits, vegetables, and Lentils and feeling better.
GREAT for you!! You can watch Dr Brooke Goldner's videos, website, Facebook Page and books: Goodbye Lupus, Goodbye Lupus, Hello Delicious, Goodbye Autoimmune Diseases. She teaches you how to cure Lupus! Good luck!
Garlic is a big trigger but I put it in everything, I don't care! Garlic works as an anti inflammatory normally, but with lupus patients, it works the opposite.
Correct. Can attest to those as complete avoidance as far as possible. Don't forget to add the plant protase enxymes to help if you can't do it naturally.
I guess it really is person to person because many people like myself of cured our auto immune issues with purely beef diet. Beef and collagen is actually really good for leaky gut
Dr. Dasari, your information is very helpful. I was diagnosed with lupus after a brain damaging car wreck in 2008. After I was knocked comatose (GCS 3), I remained that way for 11 days. After awakening, I ended up with dealing with so many more allergies to foods, smells, medications and natural triggers, in addition to developing lupus SLE, osteo and rheumatoid arthritis. It has been quite a journey. Ground beef affects me, eggs now make me vomit, I can have very little dairy now (no, I can't explain it either), and I absolutely cannot eat regular bread - it always has to be gluten free. Thank goodness for oats, corn, chicken and tuna. Veggies I don't seem to have problems with - whew!!
Thankyou Chanu, for being a real doctor, and really caring. Not like the others, who only put a band aid, on a health problem. There so needs to be more doctors like you.

Replace sugar with coconut sugar and replace oil with non-refined oil such as avocado, oil, or olive oil. You can also replace oil with unsweetened applesauce. Avoid red meat, night shade plants (potatoes, tomatoes). If I need a treat, I have Hu chocolate that is made with coconut sugar. I can also use it to bake with. I use also maple syrup as a sweetener instead of sugar. I hope these things help some of you.
@@whatsupariiiii Nightshades contain certain compounds like lectin, saponins and capsaicin; these compounds *may* cause irritation in the gut (it increases intestinal permeability which *can* contribute to leaky gut) and worsen issues (flare) from an already present autoimmune disease. Research has very little data behind it to support any claims to "remove it" from your diet as a result, though. There is research that counters that as well; and to break down the "other side" of it, is essentially that you should keep a food journal and figure out which foods *trigger* YOUR body. This can be done a few ways but the way I am personally going to go about it is to go on a very restrictive diet for a 3 month process and slowly introduce things back into my diet that are "known" to cause triggers for others - nightshade veggies being amongst that. Additional from there things like red meat, grains, gluten, dairy products, eggs - also high in numbers of autoimmune response for many (but not all).
I have found that as I get older I am becoming less tolerant to some foods. Raw tomatoes Chicken Sugar Bread Almost instant abdominal reaction. Thank you for the information and confirmation of foods that help, and also for the q10 and protease tips.
It is nice to reaffirm the things I have learned over the years. It has been suggested have I have Lupus by some doctors, I have been confirmed with Fibromyalgia and IBS. Diagnosis is hard to come by in my experience. Now Covid has kicked my daughter into active Lupus, but she has been showing signs since her teenage years. I still don’t tolerate fresh Ginger or Papaya, which triggers hives, but the rest on your list does help. Nice video.
Omgsh! Same with my daughter! She’s had a eczema and asthma since she was little. She’s also had a sun allergy since the age of 4, but it seems like lupus symptoms started showing when she got covid (may have also been the 💉) but who knows. 😩. She’s been on a gluten free and dairy diet for about 3 weeks and she is starting to feel better. Hope you and your daughter are well. 🙏🏽
Me too! I test positive for lupus every time I test which was every three months. I have Fibromyalgia and ibs-c. My poor body is just beat up lately. I am extremely gluten free and in process of cutting out sugar and beef from my diet. It’s hard.
I just have been checking out your RU-vid videos on Lupus of the skin. I will check back in with you as I learn more about Lupus. I am a 71 yr old man who was born in 1952 with congenital hypothyroidism and is one of many autoimmune disorders. to be continued as I am listening to you while I type. * I have been overweight for years 250lbs now was 280 at my heaviest weight. I love vegetables like cabbage and limited use of broccoli due to the goitregens spelling off on that.
I’ve not been diagnosed with Lupus, but I’ve had autoimmune issues for many years. Ive been to many many Drs to try to get a diagnosis but nobody has figured it out yet. I have a laundry list of symptoms- digestive problems being a prominent concern, especially during a flare. Any peppers (bell/chilies etc), tomatoes, and now many lettuces will cause swift painful cramping and eventually a rush to the bathroom. eggplant makes my mouth itch, so even though I love it, I avoid it. I think potatoes are becoming problematic. I avoid gluten for the most part, but not strictly (yet). Eating has become a minefield…I’m often unsure if I can eat out, be the bummer of the group that won’t try the newest restaurants etc. a diagnosis would be so helpful- I really want to know how to operate my body safely again!
Eating out grilled fish with stir fry or creamed spinach an butternut. Steak is safe no no no to French fries no potatoes tomatoes Brinjal ,, tartrazine flour eat only gluten free I've come to a stage where by I can't put bread to my mouth neither biscuits or cake...I do have a problem with crisps
So true. I went keto and haven’t looked back. I feel so much better. Though one thing people might want to consider is problems with citric acid and citrus. Cutting it out made a huge difference with my discoid lupus.
People with lupus should never do keto because keto diet damages the kidneys!! You should eat lower protein diet to protect the kidneys-plant based of course!
Man! I’m living off eggs, cheese, chicken and nuts/legumes for protein. There goes half of that. Will try to add fish back in with lots of leafy greens.
I watched because all autoimmune diseases seem to share some similarities. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, I’ve been having the worst flare up in the 20 years since being diagnosed! This video confirms what I just figured out, BEEF is the culprit! I can’t have any beef protein at all. I kinda knew that but didn’t realize how strict I have to be about it. My favorite Collagen Supplement Vital Protein is from beef, it helps a lot with skin, hair, nails, eyes… But when I was out my joint pain and inflammation was almost nonexistent, when I started it again it took me awhile to figure out that was the cause of a terrible flare up! Ok now I’m not adding it to my green tea and my joints are getting relief! Thank you for this video! Great information!
What made you understand that beef was the problem? I have SLE and Sjogrens and I feel best after a big Striploin steak. Vegetables and especially fruits have caused me many issues. I dont seem to get any initial reactions from gluten or dairy however I am trying to avoid them and I eat very little dairy as it is.
Thank you for this video. Grains, gluten, sugar and dairy are big triggers for me. I've avoided gluten and sugar for many years now but it's time to eliminate grains and dairy. I've also been taking enzymes for many years now and they do make a big difference with my digestion. After having my gallbladder removed, I started taking ox bile as well and that was a true game changer!
@@fleridalopez4384 Ox bile is a supplement that you can get over the counter. I get mine from Amazon. It’s quite literally ox bile, which helps those of us who have had our gall bladders removed and can no longer store adequate amounts of bile to digest fatty meals. A word of caution…it can cause diarrhea if you take too much so start with a small amount and go from there. Also, only take with a fatty meal. It has been a life saver for me. And I suffered from constipation before my surgery (I now know it was because my gall bladder was not function properly and very little bile was getting through) so the ox bile has really helped with that. I hope you find a Dr willing to work with you and I hope you start to feel better soon!
My pain and other symptoms don’t seem to have a rhythm that I can figure out what is bad for me … I can eat something and have a bad reaction and then eat it again and I’m okay.
The info is very helpful however I’ve always read that with Lupus, we cannot have garlic, alfalfa, echinacea, and sprulinua (spell check lol), nightshades, etc things of that sort. However always listen to your body
Oh my...I am both excited and depressed with these food elimination tips for my gut issues. Eggs are a vital source of protein and my overall diet, especially since I don't consume a lot of meat. Cheese is another staple of my diet, though in moderation, I do consume every day. A HUGE factor for me is the $$$ of groceries! I'm on fixed income. Eating healthy on small budget is a balancing act for me. Gluten is my worst enemy, and of course, sugar is a no-no. I'm just LOST now with elimination of 2 vital foods to reduce inflammation. However, I am very sick with every symptom of LUPUS. Not formally diagnosed yet, but nonstop illness for 3 yrs now. I have no choice but to change. I'm desperate in my 60's. COVID twice and consumed by LONG COVID. I spend most days in bed due to severity!! Ty 💗
For eggs go do an allergic test to see if you are intolerant and for cheese you should eat it in moderation (not everyday) and high quality one from Europe (France, Holland, Italy)
I got cure from Lupus in just one week with natural remedies I got from 👉🏻#DRADIMA 👈🏻 ON RU-vid him can also be of help to you. Him use natural medicine to cure all types of virus .
Not everyone has reactions to eggs and ALOT of people find eating strictly meat HELPS thier imflammation. Anything with a high sugar/fructose content will be imflammatory. I would try meat only (you wont need much to give you more nutrients than all other foods combined). Perhaps add some egg yokes for a week or two. If all good you can try the cheese (hard/old) and start re incorporating into your diet.
Try lentils and beans, soak in water, then rinse, cook with spices, no oil, its very cheap, try eating with quinoa on side. Keep in fridge, lasts 3 days...cheaper than eggs and cheese
Thank you Doctor Darari l have Lupus l being having facial rush for over 2 years with dermatology rheumatologist and taking hydroxychloquine for many years de nobody even mentioned about Any foods to avoid thank you so much for this wonderful information my Name is Anna Noriega
Once the Dr is already helping, you could suggest some brand of suplemento with protease 2 ( that one what you said about). It is really a hard job stay looking for these specific things. So, how about something to help with the arthritis, too? Also, something what will not bring extra weight, please. Thank you so much for your help.
My biggest triggers are refined sugar, dairy, and some meat products. After watching this I’m gonna test out gluten- free and egg-free to see if that has any impact on me
Goodmorning, I am diagnosed with lupus, how do I know the type so that I will know what to avoid as I already suffer bladder inflammation, joint and I do not know if it is the heart or lungs that are affected. I was diagnosed three months ago at age 62,should I get a review?
I am diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, but they keep retesting me for lupus. I also have symptoms that mimic celiac and issues with anemia. I have been vegetarian my whole life and I’m almost 50. I was diagnosed in my early 30s with autoimmune disease however, I knew it much earlier. In fact, I insisted on being tested when they told me it was in my head. Anyway, I have avoided gluten for the better part of 15 years and feels so much better but I still have a lot more I could do to clean up my diet. I have issues with dairy and I feel best when I have fresh juices with fresh ginger, root, or turmeric root added. I am so overly sensitive to trigger foods compared to the rest of my family so it’s easy to stay in check
Can you give a list of what we CAN eat?? Doesn’t sound like there’s much left to choose from..I have 2 sisters with lupus and I have symptoms but want to stop it from progressing & help my family.
Yes, focus on what you can eat! Unprocessed Meat: Beef is best for me. Most fruit & vegetables NO nightshades NO skins NO peels. Nuts Eggs Olive oil 100% cocoa powder Everyone is different. You have to pay attention to everything. Some common triggers: Flour/gluten Sugar Dairy Certain types of meat Whey Soy (including soy lecithin- commonly found in chocolate) Yeast (including yeast extract) Seed Oils Seeds/skins/peels
Things to avoid that have helped me. Refined oils. The two oils I use are olive oil and avocado oil. Avoid sugar, red meat, milk which of course includes cheese, tomatoes, potatoes, which are both in the nightshade plant family. So avoid other nightshade plants as well. These things have helped me so much that I have been able to be in remission for two years With no medication.
I noticed smoked salmon or anything that has a chemical. I feel so isolated with my strict diet. Thank you Dr. I am eating a lot of vegetables I just didn’t understand why I have. To eat them.
Hello, everyone! I am new to this channel. I was diagnosed with ANA+ recently. I am a very health conscious person that's why I am confused why I have an auto-immune illness. Btw, I am half Asian and Hispanic. I'm wondering if race has anything to do with this disease. I love eating fish and chicken breast daily with Basmati rice. I use Benson Salt Substitute in my cooking. In the morning, I eat the Original Oatmeal with Almond Milk. I love ginger and garlic in my food. I lost 35 lbs in 2 years doing this. I walk and jog daily but lately due to the cold weather, I stopped my daily routine. What am I doing wrong, can you help? Many thanks and Happy Holidays to all.
I think ive had lupus for about 8 years but just found out earlier this week that i do have it. Within the last few months i started feeling bloated when i eat or drink certain things. I got a bacterial infection about a month ago and it really did a number on me. I was sick for weeks, i got a staph infection on my leg, i had pus pockets on my throat, body aches, and of course the face rash. Im currently working out of town and living in hotel rooms until november 1 and its been easier just to grab junk food on the way to work or during lunch breaks. I gotta quit that.
I have become intolerable of most salads and veggies so it's hard to do keto or low carb. I did keto for 90 days and the keto flu never left me, it was awful...eggs and veggies definitely do for me 😢
Years ago, I was diagnosed with Lupus by Hopkins Hospital and was treated. It later it went into remission. I am currently experiencing unexplained joint pain, fatigue and some memory issues. In addition, I can no longer tolerate milk with lactose which causes digestive & bowel issues. There are sometimes issues with eating beef. Per my understanding, it takes several tests over time to determine if there is a reoccurance of the disease. Currently, what is the most accurate test for proper diagnosis of this condition other than the 'ash sedimentation' test? Is Lupus now considered hereditary?
My grandmother had lupus and my cousin has it. Yes it is hereditary. There is no cure for this disease, no matter what they tell you. You just described me. Joint pain, fatigue and memory loss or brain fog. Also lactose intolerant but only with actual milk. Cheese doesn't really effect me like milk does. Good thing I don't like milk!
I respect you for making this video and I sorry this is about the 20th time I put this video on because my attention span is short I lose interest because of all the talking instead of the education of how to eat right.
There are *some* things mentioned across the videos on food intake but pretty limited. From what I've seen in his videos - eliminate Dairy, Sugar, Meat, Gluten and of course, processed food. I think the main intention of the videos is to encourage people to purchase his program/protocol for mind-gut-immunity health.
Before I can eat shells, crabs, shrimps and chicken , Now when i eat, my stomach upset.. I love the menu with coconut milk before, everyday its okay, now very hard because I feel dizzy when i eat a lot. Cold drinks makes mi easily catch the flu. I have Gerd..

I can't eat anything fun without being in pain. No dairy, no nuts, no bread, no meat, and no sugar. Fruits and vegetables only. I have a boring diet but no pain.
Agree-especially sprouts-I have had Lupus for ( or should I clarify and say I was diagnosed at 27and I’ll be 54 in April) half of my life.I suspect I was born with it because I put my Amun through hell as a colicky baby and a sickly child. But, I digress, I have been told by my doctor to stay away from sprouts because they can trigger and/or exacerbate flares. I’m a bit skeptical of eliminating protein-especially red meat when eaten in moderation. I have had multiple endoscopic studies so I know I am not lactose intolerant so I won’t be cutting out milk. As a female in post menopausal years, protein is very important.
My wife fell off her bike and 2 weeks later things like swelling in the hands and pain in the morning then went to shoulders and arms. Wondering if a trauma event can trigger lupus?
Dear Dr, Im a vegetarian from South India and have Lupus. It flared up 10 years ago when i detected it and without medications somehow it became dormant. Now since few months its flared up and i have stopped nightshades, unfermented milk, although i still take curd and ghee. The flare ups are always the butterfly patch and horribly burning skin on my forearms and extreme sensitivity to sunlight. Also since 4 years im facing digestive issues due to acidity. What would you advise?
Thank you Dr. Dasari. I don’t have Lupus. But know many others who do. While my family and friends have never discussed their struggles or symptoms with Lupus, I feel it’s necessary to be on top of topics, in case it might be helpful down the road. And, in case we experience something that might cause us concern and we should discuss it with our GP.

I was diagnosed with Lupus Anti-Coagulation Phospholipid Factor in 2008. I now have Lupus symptoms and I cannot get into a Rheumatologist. I've had 4 different physicians refer to specific Rheumatologists in the NW and Inland NW, and they are years out due to *cough*, you know....At this point I'm just assuming I have it, as the labs are indicative as well as are many other signs and symptoms. Ot is complicated by the fact that i am on Warfarin for life due to the Blood chaining problem and my history with DVT'S and bilateral Pulmonary Embolisms. Greens are pretty much a no-no. I hope this helps - Im sooooo miserable...
@✌talk Unfortunately, that's not an option. I clot & have DVT's even on Warfarin and have had to Bridge on heparin b/c of the clots. Xeralto isn't as effective for Lupus anticoagulant factor, @ least for me..

I too have SLE Lupus and the clotting disorder (aka Hughes Syndrome) just like you.. I eat greens all the time.. I just take more warfarin.. I also include fermented garlic in Honey as well as ginger to name a few which keeps my warfarin dosages lower. Don't let them tell you that you can't eat greens... You just have to eat consistently for your warfarin dosage to remain stable.
Hi, I want to clarify something. This video focuses on protease. Doctor explained it well. But it doesn't necessarily make number one cause. So cutting meat and dairy might not improve disease. There are two sides I believe. One is saying keto is only gonna make it worse, other saying it is the best option. And vegan and carnivore diets are being discussed. Would anyone be able to give comprehensive answer?
I have been doing research on lupus diets and what not to eat and some people say not to eat garlic and sprouts. You listed these so I’m going to assume they’re safe?
I have lupus cant eat eggs found out few year back allergic or bout same time onset my lupus i have horrible diet might eat once a day what can i eat for breakfast tired of oatmeal
If I have a problem with eggs, why would it take "months" of avoidance before seeing an effect? Shouldn't it only take a few days? How about eating nothing but eggs for 2 or 3 days & see what happens? If they're a problem for me, I'd know it for sure and a lot sooner. As long as the possible consequences aren't permanent or life-threatening, I'd rather try this "2 or 3 days" approach with things, rather than spending months on each one... hopefully giving me the answers in a month or two instead of a year or two.
I have been tested for celiacs 3 times and came up negative. I still have lupus, fibromyalgia and a whole bunch of autoimmune diseases, including GI issues. Should I still avoid gluten??
I have always eaten whole foods. As a child, I didn't like the taste of any soft drinks, ice cream, or most candy except toffee and red licorice. I only drank milk and still drink a fair amount. What I can't tolerate is prepared foods or anything with chemicals ie any sugar substitute. Ok now I get that he's pushing supplements
My Dr. Raj in Lake Havasu took me off plaquenil. My lupus is worse. Why would he do this. I follow diet etc...but his care is questionable for a rheumatologist. I watched the Harvard dr. who said we should all be on our meds. What is wrong with Dr. Raj?
