This aria may be simple in it's melody and harmonic structure, but it is far from easy. This aria is not easy for anyone. None of the music in DG is easy, with exception of perhaps the secco recitativi, which are dramatically virtuosic for the performer. There is no perfect recording of "Dalla". And how Domingo sings it is possibly one of the best we have on record. Anyone who thinks this aria is easy should learn it, memorize it, practice it, and then go audition with it. See how far you get!
THis is wonderful because even the forte tones are not too bright and heavy. The balance between piano and forte is good, and the overall timbre of the voice is also balanced between dark and light. Even some recordings of Alva do not have this balance, maybe it is just the recording or the weather.

De verdad es q leo los comentarios y alucino. Comprarán a Domingo y a pavarotti en este aria. La gente no sabe q ninguno de los dos tiene ni el estilo ni la voz para cantar Mozart y menos este aria? Desde luego en RU-vid el personal de canto no tiene ni idea. Escuchan un timbre bonito y sólo se quedan en eso.
It’s unusual to hear such a rich strong voice in this aria. Easy? No way! It’s very exposed; any off-pitch note is immediately noticeable, any break in the line. Mozart is very difficult to sing well. (PS, listen to some RU-vids of Gwyneth Jones singing Mozart; it’s a revelation that her big unwieldy voice could handle Donna Anna and the Countess so well)

Es un concierto. Uno no tiene que mantener una línea ni la coherencia en el desarrollo del personaje. Es un ejercicio de canto para una audiencia que va no a ver una concreta ópera sino a escucharte a ti. No hace falta seguir las instrucciones del _regista_ ni la tradición mozartiana a la hora de afrontar el papel. O sea, que no es _Don Ottavio_ sino Domingo, con su voz y su estilo, cantando una canción. Muy bien por cierto. Por otro lado resulta refrescante, y esta vez me refiero al personaje, oír (y ver) cómo podrí ser un _Don Ottavio_ con cojones por una vez.
This is a really fine version. He has another one on RU-vid that isn't so good. Pavarotti also has a couple not so good versions. That's odd because this is such an easy aria. However it does offer no hiding places for approximate vocalism. It's very revealing.
NO. it is not an "easy" aria. You cannot be a serious singer. This sits in the secondo passagio (at the top of the treble clef staff), a most tricky area for tenors. A lot of Mozart looks simple on paper. It's not. And it exposes lack of technique.
I have sung it and I find it easy. Of course I had to transpose it way down. My role in DG is the Commendatore. I can't manage "Il Mio Tesoro" no matter what the key. This is also the problem that Mozart had at the Vienna premiere. The tenor couldn't quite manage Il Mio Tesoro so he wrote this much easier aria. He wrote some of the most difficult vocal music of all time but he also wrote the easy roles of Cherubino, Papageno, and this aria.

Surely you're being sarcastic. Anyone can make anything easy if they transpose it. This is a tenor aria. Not a basso aria. I imagine I could take a most difficult basso aria and make it easy if I put it in my range.
