The British army used Pacencia as a R&R centre back in the day. I was there back in 1978. Although it looks very pretty now back then it was just a fishing village. The locals were super friendly, it was them and us and the sea. It was paradise, I wonder where they are now!
Hi Allen - we actually talked with a local who moved to Placencia in the 1980's and she echoed what you are saying. Back then it was a small unknown village. With development and tourism comes more amenities and better infrastructure but you also lose some of the exotic charm of a place. There's pros and cons to both. Thanks for watching! - Jenny and Lance
I love that you are showcasing Placencia. The Ricks cafe pineapple/bird art at the bar is my work and the art of the village was painted by the recently passed owner of the art gallery there on sidewalk she had cancer and it was her last work I believe.
That's so sad, I'm glad we can bring some light to her work and yours. The art in Placencia and all over Belize is amazing! Thanks for watching and sharing these insights. - Lance and Jenny
We would love to go to Belize. We almost bought a house in Utila, Honduras but want to check out Belize and then 2020 happened and we are just happy to be exploring America in our RV for now.
@@CrazyEmptyNest our Realtor might be a great option to show you Utila. She was on Caribbean life. Email us if you want us to set y’all up. She will have other contacts if she’s busy. I totally recommend Jose for a Tuk Tuk driver. I can send you his information.
I can’t decide where to stay. I just learned Maya & Seine Bight have the nicer beaches but they aren’t that close to everything else. Are the beaches near Tipsy Tuna that much different?
@@jessica82882 tipsy is in placencia the beach is nice there. Placencia has nice beaches. It also depends on how well they are kept. Maya Beach puts you closer inland for travel. Placencia gives you everything right there in the village.
That's great Gabrielle! You have such a beautiful and amazing country, we want more people to come and see its beauty and rich culture. Thanks for watching and commenting. - Lance and Jenny
Loved your video. I was there with my daughter in December 2019. ❤️🌴☀️Also, so fun to William the plastic man is still recycling bags, and making bracelets. I still have mine, and my daughter does too!🌴☀️🌴
Enjoy your vlog and appreciate the effort you put into them. Was wondering if you've seen loquats at the market or grocery stores? I know they're tropical fruit.
Would you mind sending me info on best restaurants (it’s easier to see in print;) and what excursion company you guys used. We are also looking for a local to take us out and show us the islands by boat.
God loves you so much that He sent His Holy Son Jesus from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins, and to be put into a tomb 3 days and rise from the dead the third day, and He (Jesus) went back up to heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, & abominable, and murderers, and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus & put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?
Fly Maya airlines once you land in Goldson international and catch a flight to plancencia. The round trip flight can be a bit pricey for only a 15 min flight but it's definitely worth it
BELIZE HEALTH & SAFETY UPDATE EFFECTIVE JULY 12, 2022, THE BELIZE TOURISM BOARD ADVISES THAT THE GOVERNMENT OF BELIZE HAS DECIDED TO REMOVE ALL PUBLIC HEALTH MEASURES AT THE POINTS OF ENTRY IN BELIZE (LAND AND SEA). -
Hi Crawford - thanks for watching and commenting, we always look forward to your comments! It was not very crowded, mostly Canadians and a few European backpackers. Placencia is usually packed full of people and requires reservations months in advance. I guess we were lucky? Next stop will be Honduras after a few videos on how to plan travel to Belize. We are trying to put out more updated info as a lot of the advice we found was outdated. Hope you are doing well! - Jenny and Lance
Bought almost 6 years ago now , this year tourists are everywhere had 5 family members stay this year, a record, had to ad a room. The village still has lots of tourists and home prices would be well over double what we paid. The weather will be Hot until October 90 to 100. Very humid whenbthe rains start in June. The reason not a lot of people? Half the world is at the reef or one of the Cayes during the day, the night life is a blast with all ages represented, best place to retire, in the Americas because everyone speaks English, and the government cares about the people. Former Prime minister has a house 1/2 block away, no walls no big gates and not one guard at his his place.
