Would be nice if the space bar put a check mark in the little box as one is scrolling up and down the various sorted lists with the arrow keys, way faster that using a mouse to click in the box IMO.
How do I manage naming conventions for places/locations such as Cumberland, Pennsylvania, "British America" or Cumberland, Pennsylvania, "United States". Both are the same place just different times.
You have given us a means of working with Places. That's fine for clean up work. Now give us an easier means of working with Place-details for research. I'd rather have a list of Place-Details, Place, each record for event/person per that detail. That would nice. Or even better would be a new form , like a spreadsheet, that allows combinations of data fields to be added and indexed. Also as with the Place List report there needs to be a Place-Details, Place report. Or is there already a way to do this?
There is a problem with the merging feature in Places. I merged a Place, Place-Detail(none),event was a birth, with the same Place, Place-Detail(none), event was property, and a Place, Place-Detail named cemetery, event was a burial. The result shows the burial but not the others without specific place details. there should have been 3 events for the Place. I won't do anymore merging till we figure this out.
If I know it and think it important not to lose, why shouldn't I put my GGGFathers street address in the place details. Is there a better way store to GGGFathers address. I can see the original house on google maps even today.
