Three short films of places I've lived in, in and around London from 1982 to 2002, using whatever photos and video I have been able to collect and put together.

This film left you really wanting more. So nice to learn something about your life and how so much has changed.

How kind of you to say, Michael, I think in all our ways we have created an interesting life, if only for those who have lived it. Glad you enjoyed this little presentation.

A rich tapestry of life. My first homes were also rooms in staff accommodation blocks at Exminster Hospital, Devon, and Bexley Hospital, Kent. We would frequently remove the furniture and hold all night parties…great fun had by all. Happy memeories 🥳🍻🕺📻💃

Lot of history there - lovely to see some ‘young’ old faces there

Certainly is a lot of history. It was a great opportunity to collate a whole bunch of pictures and video into something coherent.

Lovely film Andrew, I bought my first flat in 1994, with no savings at all and working in admin so not a huge salary. I am so glad I took that step, even though at the time I had comments from various older people about it being an unwise move for a single girl. However it didn’t last long because 3 months later as I was just beginning to enjoy my freedom I went on holiday with a group of friends including Pete and we gravitated towards each other, 30 years together next year!

On the contrary I think you made such a wise decision, even as a single woman. I bless the day I took possession of my flat. It meant I could stop working in 1997 and just have time for myself to this day, and beyond!

How lovely to have such a comprehensive record of your history of homes. I have only ever lived in 4 homes and have no real record of them just my somewhat patchy memories. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Thanks, Jean, it did take me a while to collate all the material, but it was great fun putting all the pieces together.

What a wonderful concept for a video! I hope you are enjoying a good Solstice and Christmas season. I love how you mentioned "orchestrating" your creative world. I was very much that way when young, too, and I still try to be. Thanks for sharing your marvelous memories.

Lovely to see you here again and a happy Solstice to you, too. Glad you liked the video. I think people reveal so much of themselves, good or bad, in the way they decorate their homes. I've been gradually buying the odd art work for my studio. I love to look at these works and remember the story behind them.

Absolutely loved that Andrew. The mental asylum seems an odd choice to many but I can see the multi-dimensional essence of it. So interesting. As for the bedsit I resonate with that too. I spent years in bedsits - some all floors were populated by mates and the whole block became a rave with open doors. Yeah, like you we packed em in. You're one property was an oasis of a different kind - what a creation. A kind of spring board for there you are now. Thanks for sharing - really enjoyed the stories. Have a great new year. Mark

Thanks, Mark, I really enjoyed putting this video together, ostensibly to collate all these disparate pieces of information, photos, drawings etc., that I had collected over the years but never quite anticipated the reception this video would receive, I guess it resonated with everyone who ever lived in a small space! Yes, the flat I bought back in 1992 has facilitated my art, my gardening and my pleasure! Have a great New Year, too, Mark and thanks for your watching over the past few years.

Oh I loved watching that Andrew and learning more about your life. How wonderful that you have those magical memories visually saved. It must have been fascinating working in the hospital and learning about the lives of the patients there. What a shame to see it demolished. I love how you created so many lovely items to adorn your homes. Your love of music and painting still lives on. Will there be a Part Two? I do hope so. Thank you for sharing. So interesting, I'm going to watch again 🥰 Happy Christmas and New Year to you both and Zorro, of course 🐕

Thank you, Lynn, I have always thought that a stable base is so important upon which one can start being creative. I can't help myself sometimes and I try to decorate everything, as is my nature. As for part two. I need a greater distance in time before I can put a coherent video together, though in fact I've recorded our home in the village quite a bit. Thank you for watching, Lynn.

That was wonderful Andrew….. whilst you were in Islington I was in Lancaster Gate and Swiss Cottage we might’ve passed each other in the street! 😊

If you ever walked up Gloucester Road, or around Portman Square, then I probably spied you from my window where I worked, 1983 - 1997. Wonderful job in an interesting location.

Bravo, what a great piece of autobiographical work. The treasure that having a place to call home can give, and the enablement of greater creativity. Would love to hear more about the characters from the hospital - what stories and insights they must have shared. And how great to see so much of your work, you have such talent. And I can never forget our joint efforts...weren't be inspired by the Magic Roundabout?

Yes, the Magic Roundabout, I had forgotten that. wasn't that such fun to make! I loved that bed-sit. I have many stories from the hospital and will happily tell you them. It was an extraordinary place and I really enjoyed my time there.
