Oh my goodness, these plates are fantastic, I just love them! And thank you for another great tutorial. You explain each step so clearly, that I think I may have to give this a try!
Love, love, love! So excited to see you put out another reverse decoupage! I would love to see how to size and cut with Cricut as I am new to that also.
These are so adorable. As always, great tutorial. Years ago my Mom decoupaged the backs of glass plates with fabric. Wish I would have kept them, now that she is gone.
I'm so glad I found your channel. Thank you for all your videos. You are out of my league, but if I can come close to doing some of these projects, it will be amazing.
Thank you so much, Tracy! Happy crafting and I hope my video projects give you ideas and inspiration! I watch a LOT of artists that certainly do that for me!🤗
Thank you! Well, I stated in the video that I baked the first blue stripe, but not the second. I didn’t bake the coats of the warm white because I wasn’t using tape again and there was no risk of pulling up any paint from the sticky tape. These enamel paints will also cure on their own after 21 days of air drying. Possibly not AS stable letting air dry verses baking, but I did not want to risk heating the mod Podge and rice paper in an oven. It probably would have been okay, but I didn’t want to risk that, especially since the paint will cure on its own anyway and I also applied Polyvine varnish to help with protecting the finish. Hope that answers your question and doesn’t sound too confusing. 😬
I have 2 questions. 1. When you are at the cooling phase for the plates in the over, do you have the door open or closed to cool? 2. Please explain how you resized the image. Love your lessons so much!!❤
Thank you! I left the door closed,; opening the door would cool them down too quickly. Well, the short answer is I uploaded the images in Cricut design, picked a circle shape and sized it, laid it over each image and slliced it. Then sent it to printer.
So did you not bake the plate again when you did the paint lines going the opposite way? I wonder if you could use etch Armour to give it a different look instead of paint. Of course it couldn’t be borosilicate.
I didn’t bake it again. This paint will actually cure without baking after three weeks. I’ve used etch Armour once on a clear glass coffee cup when I made a faux pumpkin spice latte last fall. I don’t know if etching would show up that much on the bottom side of a plate. 🤔
I love these…my daughters beloved stuffed animal was the Beatrix Potter rabbit…I’m going to make a set of these for her. She is now 28 and she will love them. Please could you explain the sizing for the cricut. Thank you so much.
The images were not circles. I sized them in Cricut design space and used the slice function to get the circles, then printed on rice paper. I could have let the machine cut them, but I just did it by hand this time. I find that i have to calibrate the machine before using the print and cut feature, or it cuts slightly off and I couldn’t have that and didn’t want to take the time to re-calibrate. There was no wiggle room for the circles.
