Plan B - Pattison Park & the NCT

Went out for a camping trip at Pattison State Park. I assumed that since the park and trails were open that the campground was as well. Turns out it was closed because of the coronavirus. I scrabbled to find a backup plan and ended up doing a very enjoyable overnight trip on the North Country Trail.

Beautiful camp. They’ve closed all of our trails, parks and campgrounds to any overnights. Thanks for taking us along. Cheers.

Thanks! I just assumed that if the park was open the campground was included in that. I should've known lol. My daughter was at tettegouche yesterday and there was a lot of people out there. Cheers!

I love your camping in the winter! I am not sure I would be able to hike in with all my gear yet. One day I hope to be strong enough. You set up a mean campsite!

We're not that far apart, but we hardly had snow, and had a fairly mild winter. Unfortunately we're stuck in the 40s all the time. Need to get the water temps up and get the kayaks out more

A similar thing happen to me in Two Harbors a few years ago. Do you still have your Acorn camper?

Hey Paul, Still have the Acorn. I'm doing some work on it and I planned to take it out this weekend but they closed the national forest.

What state are you in? Lots more snow than here in the U.P

Wisconsin. About an hour or so from the U.P.. There was a storm the day before this trip. Near Lake Superior it snowed about six inches. Couple miles away from the lake it was rain. So when I left the one place and went to the other, I crossed that line where it changed from snow to rain.
