It's a popular meme on the image board that shall not be named to criticize Americans for talking about other countries "Let me tell you about your country". And here we are, again, a whole room of people doing naught else for several minutes but discussing American politics with not a single American in the crowd.
@jesterapp Thanks for watching and commenting. I have never heard of this criticism. Regardless, the world has an interest in US politics and especially presidential elections and for obvious reasons. Moreover, this was a gig on 4 July as mentioned in the description. So I think it did make a lot of sense to talk about US. By the way, there was at least 1 American in the audience who told me he enjoyed the set and the focus on America because he usually had to endure UK-only topics. :-)
@@zeldagoblin the idea is that Europeans are quick to shut down Americans when Americans voice an opinion about European politics but Europeans feel right at home engaging with American politics. Essentially it's hypocritical.
@@AngloItalianComedy I really like your comedy. I'm just tired of being told i can't possibly know about what's going on in another country because I'm American. I'll be sure to have token Europeans from now on when that happens.
Does anyone else thinks him looking at his hand, pretending or not, to check his notes, detracts from his set? I think it makes him look amateurish, and he has great material. So maybe get rid of that shtick.
