I love your channel! I haven’t done Gather Round’ and now I am going to do it. We will be roadschooling this year and headed to Washington DC for elections. Our entire year wis focused on US History and will be going to all the sites all over the US. I will have a RU-vid Chanel to document it. I have been gathering a ton of books and curriculum on US history and you talked about some I haven’t seen and plan to get. Really happy I found you!
Once again, you have hit it out of the park with your plan and prep videos! We are about halfway through the Government unit and I must say it is not my kids' favorite, but I feel it is an important topic so we are pushing through! We are also doing South America.
Awesome! We did a unit on birds a few years ago (before GR existed) and it really stuck with us. My kids still love listening to the the Burgess Bird Book and can identify just about every bird that comes in our yard!
Thank you so much for sharing! We have been diving into this unit , but i was overwhelmed as a new homeschool mama! Thank you for sharing all your Tips and tricks! I really APPRECIATE it!
Hi Sarah, new subscriber here. I just found your channel and I'm brand new to homeschooling this year...to two 6th graders! We are currently doing the Gather Round Oceans unit and when I saw the government mini unit I also thought it would be good to do next because of the election. I like the idea of adding it in a couple days a week and really appreciate all your ideas and resources! I enjoy your overall approach to these unit studies (especially with middle schoolers) and have already gained so much from your videos. And I can use all the help I can get ;) Thanks again
I would love to know how you fit in Language Arts for your 2nd grader and your older kids and yet still fit in Gather Round? I have a Kindergartener, 2nd grader and 4th grader that I am using GR with. I honestly don't feel that Language arts in GR is enough. It might be just that I am not used to the Charlotte Mason type learning....I'm not sure. But I know I am not comfortable completely letting go of their other curriculums. Thanks for any advice!
I am planning to post a video next week about our daily homeschool routine, how we fit in all our curriculum and subjects - so stay tuned! Also, I agree with you, I also supplement with LA (maybe I’m just stuck in my ways) 😝
If anyone is looking back on this video, I’d recommend “King George: What was His Problem” it has text book information but is story format. About 5th grade level.
