When the speckled trout won't cooperate the best thing you can do is roll to your "Plan B", and my Plan B is "Plan Redfish".
I had launched from Southshore Marina in hopes of finding a decent speckled trout bite in Lake Borgne.
But, after checking a few spots and having less than stellar results at one, it was clear that a speckled trout bite probably wasn't going to happen, so I made the move to find five keeper redfish inside the famed Biloxi Marsh.
Plan Redfish is a great backup on any inshore fishing trip because they are relatively easy to find in the protected marsh and are almost always shallow.
There are some tips and tricks to locating and catching redfish, some of which are covered in this video but I strongly recommend you enroll in my courses Inshore Fishing 101 and Sight Fishing Mastery School to fully take advantage of them all.

Great clarity in your cameras, your settings are on point. Great backup plan! Who knew, you picked up IG famous redfish!! Good box of fish and an almost SHARK kiss to face, be careful! I know you have plenty of knowledge handling them, but like you said, it’s erratic.
@LAFishBlog
@LAFishBlog 3 года назад
He really wasn't that close to my face, it just looks that way on the camera. It's like an accidental camera trick. lol Besides, even if he got me, I have one helluva story to tell! lol Thanks for watching!

Dude u almost kissed that shark I grab them to but you was on a whole other level. That must have been video courage or you just don't care about getting bit.
@LAFishBlog
@LAFishBlog 3 года назад
I think it was more of an accidental camera trick, because he really wasn't that close to my face. But yes, I've caught plenty of sharks and don't have a problem handling them. lol Practice makes perfect! lmao

Nice video as usual, I see the 2 "thumbs down guys" have a new friend! LOL. My most memorable trip catching sharks was fishing MRGO washouts near Hopedale/Shell Beach a few years back. We were fishing with live shrimp under a popping cork for Trout in 2-4' of water. Kept getting NAILED and the flouro leader would break off right above the hook. After about 6 or 7 of these hits, and tying on new hooks, I put on a steel leader and WHAM! Next cast caught a 13" shark! We un-assed that spot right away and moved on.

it looks like you was just straight reeling that craw so you could cover more water, right? And if i am right, what other baits would be good for covering alot of area to find the fish. I think one of my biggest fails is not covering enough water cuz i always let the bait fall.. twitch twitch.. fall..
