to everyone saying that this theme is too complicated or too doodle heavy youd better stop right now. this is amanda's journal and amanda's channel, and she draws and posts what she wants. there are 43 other plan with mes that she has and if the theme is not for you, no ones forcing you to do it, but dont stop someone from doing what theyre passionate about .
Also she said you can just do the windy leaves if you don't want to draw Kiki or the other characters, which I think is a good point. I mentioned in another comment that I struggled really hard to draw the study girl's face, but it was a good challenge for me!
Kiki’s Delivery Service is literally my all time favourite movie. I watched it when I was 13, just before I had to leave my parents to study in a foreign country. I was so nervous until I saw how Kiki, also a 13 year old girl, left her parents to find a new life in another city. Then my nervousness turned into excitement for a new adventure. The animation and art in the movie is also so beautiful. I love Jiji and his sassy attitude as well. Everything about this movie is perfect.
spirited away taught me to be brave, i was always a shy girl, and whenever we had to write our goals in class one of mine was always "be more confident". now i guess its "stop procrastinating" now XD
I’ve been doing my bullet journal since the start of 2019, for the first year I tried to copy Amanda’s set ups as closely as possible. But as I started 2020, although I love all of Amanda’s set ups, I realised that these videos aren’t a rule they’re a guide and I use these as inspiration. For example, I’ve never seen a studio Ghibli film (after this video I’m 100% planning on it) but the idea of a film studio theme means I can do a theme based around whatever film or film studio I want! For anyone who is new to bullet journaling, just know you don’t have to do everything exact and it takes time to develop your style and there’s an entire community out here to help you.
I totally agree! I also started bullet journaling after watching amanda and I did a slytherin theme in 2017, taking inspiration from her spreads and others from pinterest as well! Btw, enjoy watching the films! You'll love it, they're just wonderful :)
Hey, can you give me an idea about how many pages are required for each monthly journal? At my country, it is very uncommon to find plain white journals that you can customize. The are already decorated or designed, so I want to make a journal with the help of a binder (those who bind books) and I need an estimate about how many pages I am gonna put in each one.
Shreejata Das hey! I’m not super sure but Amanda has a video comparing different popular bullet journals with more details on the pages in each book, perhaps you can refer to that video to analyse how many pages there are in a typical journal? One thing to note though is that many people tend to use 2 bullet journals each year, so do keep them in mind when creating your own notebook!
@@shreejatadas9922 There is no number of pages that is "required" for a monthly setup. Your journal has to be useful to you. Do you want a monthly intro page or no? Do you want to draw out a full calendar each month or just jump into the weeks or days? Do you want to use habit trackers or to journal, or to catalogue he music you're listening to, or track a financial or weight loss goal? No one can tell you how many pages *you* need for each month because only you know what you need. My suggestion: use a cheap spiral notebook for 1 or 2 months. Try some pages that Amanda does or any other bullet journaler you admire. See what pages work for you and what doesn't. Try 1 page weeklies and 2 page weeklies. Try dailies. After a month or two, you'll be able to see what works for you and determine what planner to buy. Also - who says your year has to fit in just one journal? Who knows what the future holds, what spreads you may need. Just be flexible.
Everyone is talking about how we shouldn't complain about her drawing so much in this monthly spread, but I can't find a single comment saying that ;-;
Me too as know time passed i actually forgot the name of totoro and I was trying so hard to recall the name bit finally because of this video I could recall
WOW, this is my favorite spread you've ever done!! This theme seems perfectly fitting for starting in your brand new journal that you created!! I hope that you do more themes that you personally relate to, those are my favorite from you (and the more complex ones too - the chill hip hop/lofi beats one was my favorite before this haha). We watch you because we like YOU and the ideas you have!! I hate the thought that people complained about what you do in your own journal. Personally I don't like Animal Crossing but I loved your AC theme because I always look to you for inspo on ways to translate theme ideas into actual drawings/setups!
I watch videos of both of you. I love when I in comments find that I share appreciation for a youtuber with a different youtuber I also watch. You’re both great!
To the ppl saying “I can’t do this??” Or getting upset that this spread involves a lot of drawing, please recognize and understand that this is Amanda’s bullet journal. hers. Not yours. You don’t have to replicate hers all the time. There are may Bujo artists out there. So please go do something that suits you or works for you instead of criticizing her.
This might be my favourite Amanda's theme this year. The video was so beautiful, i felt weirdly emotional, i think it was the music and Amanda's sky and grass doodles. Kinda made me nostalgic! I haven't seen many Ghibli movies so im doing a Ghibli marathon this month as well!! Thank you Amanda!! 💖💖💖💖
Some people need to understand that Amanda can do whatever she wants, it’s HER channel- don’t prevent her from doing something she’s passionate about, she has so many other spreads you can do so that you make those. Please respect that she is also an incredible artist besides a bullet journalist and incorporates both sides to her in her bullet journaling. Just draw simple clouds and flowing plants as she said if you don’t want to do her more intricate drawings :)
@@ep6434 I've also checked the newest comments up until a week ago. There isn't really any hate. Everyone is just commenting suggestions are talking about how they've never seen the movies. one person said her content seems slacking. What I do see is 80% of her stans freaking out about people complaining.
Becca girl there’s a difference between suggestions and complaining, i never said there was hate, but some of her audience (mostly younger) say smt along the lines of “uhhh this is was too difficult you should do simpler spreads so i can do it too” which unintentionally hurts Amanda bc she spent time and effort on this, and considering the fact that she has other simpler spreads. also jus bc u dont see the comments doesnt mean there’s no any ;)
Becca so ig there should be people criticizing the people complaining and educating them bc it’s damn rude to force Amanda to do spreads that others expect her to do and not what she wants to do on HER channel
For those who think it’s too complicated or drawing heavy, I always watch her plan with me videos and still find inspiration for my own even tho I don’t really draw in mine. Her spreads are beautiful and I’m sure everyone can find some inspiration in this video even if it’s just using the same color pallete ❤️
psa! your bullet journal is YOUR bullet journal! it’s yours to customize so never feel like you have to do some fancy spread. i love your spreads Amanda and I wish more people understood that!
Who dislikes these videos. Like there is literally no reason to do so. These are some of the BEST videos on yt. She makes everything so calm and chill, I’m always so happy when I see that she posts I’m always so happy :)
I’ve really been vibing the more detailed bullet journal themes. This and the Lofi theme you did this year might be some of my all time favorites from you!
Even though I didn't grow up with studio ghibli, I just about started crying when you were talking about how much they meant to you...your passion really shines through in your beautiful artwork and it really meant a lot to me
I just finished Avatar, the Last Airbender (for the second time in 8 days) and I think I might take some inspiration from this. Thank you, Amanda. (also, if u haven't watched ATLA, I highly recommend it [it's on Netflix]). Love you, Amanda!
omg this video is soooo pretty and relaxing!! your take on this theme is just the prettiest thing, i love it! (ps: i think the jiji washi tape would fit your color palette!)
Hello Amanda! If you see this, I want to say that thanks to you I discovered love for Studio Ghibli, and bullet journaling, (Its the first time I saw Spitited Away and I loved it❤) I also want to say that you're one of my biggest inspirations and thank you for taking time to read this! Stay safe Queen!
This theme turned out so beautiful! Please pick any theme that inspires you, it doesn't always need to be mainstream applicable. I feel like that just puts extra pressure on you.
I feel like Nausicaa is such an underrated Ghibli film. Everyone seems to forget about it and it's hands down my favorite (followed by Kiki's Delivery Service and Princess Mononoke) lol
This was my all time favorite spread. I love Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki. They're movies are so wonderful and the scenes are gorgeous. Their use of colors and everything is calming and I've loved them for-like-ever.
I honestly like the more detailed illustrations because it kinda makes me want to challenge myself in art styles I typically wouldn’t try so thank you Amanda 🥺🥰
I was holding myself to come here until the end of the video... Wow, I’m crying to see those beautiful pages! My favorite theme ever! Loved it loved it loved it!
!!! i didn't expect this theme at all, but i'm really pleased to see it c: studio ghibli was my bujo theme back in march last year, with green as the main accent color, so i focused more on the nature in the movies. as someone who's not really an artist, it was a good theme for me to go out of my comfort zone and try to sketch out some of the more iconic characters, such as the 3 totoros or the iron giant in laputa. if anything, the studio ghibli theme made me reminisce about watching the movies growing up
To everyone saying this spread is too hard: this is her art, and her bujo. Wasn't this about being creative, and doodling? You don't really have to recreate Amanda's spreads, make your own, or recreate her spread with your touch in it 😩 don't harass her because you can't draw smh
I feel like like the best thing bout studio ghibli is that thier anime is bout life lessons and dealing with them in tear jerking, heart strengthening ways and no matter how old y oi u are you can watch them and still draw inspiration from them!!! They always feel like your there being impacted by thier scenes no matter what movie- Ive scene a few of ghiblis work multiple times but havnt seen every film yet almost feel like i need to hold off til i reach another low point in my life just to have another film life me up all over again like the others did when i was little!!!
This is so beautiful, Amanda. I love hearing that you're inspired. I feel like it really comes across in your spreads, and I'm glad that you're able to enjoy your theme! 💕
I also want to say that being shaped by Studio Ghibli films really inspired me as a very young girl to be an artist, and now that I have a daughter, I can proudly say that she is OBSESSED with Kiki and Totoro, as well as Ponyo and Spirited Away ❤️ We’ve gotta raise the next generation with that same beautiful art, right?
I really wanna say this.. I’m a teen now, and I used to watch spirited away and howl’s moving castle when I was very little. When I was small, i just find them cute, with all the beautiful sceneries and stuff. When the studio ghibli movies are on Netflix, I rewatched both of them and watched others too. Princess mononoke tbh makes me a bit uneasy bc it’s a bit triggering for me but I finished it and I don’t regret. I would rewatch it again when I’m free bc the movie is really meaningful and touching. Studio ghibli movies never fail to make me cry. I don’t watch animations a lot bc it doesn’t feel real to me but Studio Ghibli movies are an exception 😭😭 they’re so touching 🥺🥺
My routine when Amanda uploads: ~create a chill atmosphere ~grab a cup of tea/hot beverage ~grab a pillow ~relax and praise Amanda’s creativity *this was such a cool and a relaxing video! Super awesome. I wonder how u get these ideas* 💯
This is the earliest?? That I have ever been?? Edit: The Ghibli theme is so lovely!! I haven't even watched the video fully yet but I'm really enjoying it so far. :)
Am I the only one who is reading the comments and not seeing any of the “This theme is too difficult to recreate” comments? If you do feel that way tho, I won’t tell you to shut up and not complain. You wanna recreate it? Find what you have difficulty with and practice it.
I've been waiting for this plan with me and I'm so excited about the theme! I can't wait to try it out myself! Although I'm not the best at drawing, I am super excited to see if I can do this! It's super adorable
I’m gonna try look for a bullet journal tomorrow and start one for August wish me luck 💛 Edit:bought a bullet journal, pastel highlighters and 24 rolls of washi tape 😅
