Thank-you Brother Ross for sharing with us another phenomenal plane-spotting experience from the great white north (which is now lush with green grass). This is Guerry again, and I have but one complaint, which I hopes sends you into manic depression so horribly that you will have to spend weeks on the psychiatric floor of Toronto’s big hospital. There is a spot from which you video that has too many obstructions around it in order to have a sustained view at aircraft. At @2:30, when you recorded the Lufthansa A330, that is the spot about which I am complaining. But to help you pull out of your mental distress, I most certainly applaud not only your video captures, but the wear and tear you put on yourself and your car to rush to different locations around the airport. Overall, great job, and thank-you so very much. Your introductory shot of the Virgin Atlantic “Star Wars” 747 (G-VLID) is now a historical archive. I know that Virgin Atlantic parked it for a while at the Manchester, UK airport, but I did some research as to its current disposition out of curiosity. It is now home at the Ciudad Real Central Airport (ITA: CQM, ICAO: LERL), Spain. That airport is now an aircraft storage area and recycling/tear apart airplanes facility. In the future, they plan to establish a heavy maintenance (D level) facility there also for large aircraft. So my friend, our favorite 747 might very well be seen again in the form of paper clips. So sad! Of all the aircraft you featured, the Korean Airlines 747-8F melted my heart. Of all the variants of the 747, the -8 series is my favorite by far, and for me to see it no longer a part of airline business plans breaks my heart. Of all the current heavy commercial aircraft now in service, the 747-8 is my favorite, just behind the fading 767. @5:22, you videoed from a location that had a lot of cars parked on the other side of the fence. Do you know what those people were doing out of curiosity? I saw a sign next to one of the cars, but it does look like a strange place to be serving free coffee. I really liked the Trans Canada retro livery on the A319 @8:21. Not only is the livery one of the best I’ve seen, but it actually seems to fit the A319 much, much better than other retro liveries on modern day aircraft, with two exceptions: the BOAC and Lufthansa 747’s. But of course, those aircraft models were around when the retro liveries were actually used. Well my friend, that is about all I have for this post.
