Planes & helicopters battle forest fire near Mt. Mitchell 

On November 6, 2001 firefighters in planes & helicopters (along with ground crews) battled and extinguished a fire in the Pisgah National Forest east of Mount Mitchell and the Black Mountains. The video features shots of helicopters dipping water from a golf course pond, and planes flying between Mt Mitchell and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Sincere thanks to all the firefighters, on the ground & in the air, who do the hard, dangerous work. We are grateful.
