My cousins in laws were in the bus scene. I live about 20 minutes from Braidwood. The Johnny Depp movie Public Enemies was filmed here and Tom Hanks Road to Perdition was too.

Hi…This is one of my favorite holiday movies. Thanks for making this video. I was actually standing on that Lasalle/Van Buren train station in downtown Chicago back in June, 1987!…. when that train station scene was filmed. Yes!!! JUNE, 1987!!! It was around 84 degrees that day! The snow you see on the platform was from a snow/ice machine that was set up down on the street below with a chute that stretched up to the platform. With the warm weather that day they had to keep the snow coming as it was constantly melting. I stood across near where the cameras were set up. I waved to John, he waved back. Very very sweet man! You can just tell he loved his fans! I was there for about two hours watching the train scene. It was filmed about six or seven times if memory serves me. Everytime the train rounded the curve, shooting stopped and train returned to its starting point at the further end of the train station. It was fun and memorable to see that scene being filmed.

Jordan, that was truly incredible to see those locations from my all time favorite movie, thankyou so much, absolutely brilliant! "Those arn't pillows!!!" 😄

I wish movies today were still like this, classic comedy and one of my favorites. Summer rental is up there too! Thank you for this and bringing me back to a simpler time and enjoying heavy laughing fits

Hi Jordan, oh, this was one of the best movies ever imo! Once again, it's nice that these locations have not changed much over all that time. What a nice tribute area for all the things filmed there and Orson Wells, but my favorite is that wooden groundhog, I just love that! Great vlog Jordan.

I actually stayed at the El Rancho Motel, back when it was still called that. The doors to the rooms were still what they looked like in the movie, We stayed in room six, same room as the movie, smelled like cigerettes! They even had pictures from when they filmed hanging in the lobby!

I've watched this movie a few times already this month and I enjoyed seeing your trip to the Chicago area locations. It's a bummer that Room 114 was taken and we couldn't see what it looks like inside today. I'm planning on doing my own pilgrimage this week in NYC starting at the corner of 54th and Madison across to Park Ave where Steve Martin and Kevin Bacon raced for a cab. I had planned to do it today around 5 P.M., 2 days before Thanksgiving like in the movie, but unfortunately I had a long day and was too exhausted so I didn't make it over there. I'll do it in the next few days for sure.

Oh by the way Chester the creator of Dick Tracy is from Pawnee, Oklahoma but he lived up there. The town of Pawnee has a big mural and museum dedicated to him. Lot of history in that town with the Pawnee and Pawnee Bill.
