He also perceived Caesar as a weak leader and traitor because he liked humans. "Koba fight for Koba" means Koba´s fight is motivated by his trauma and hatred towards humans and he can´t see the perspective of other apes who didn´t have only bad experiences with humans.

Koba is a reflection of what you get when you torture someone since the day they were born. This applies on both animals and humans. Animals tortured in the labs have it much worse than it was shown in the movie. It would have to be hard R if they went for 100% realistic portrayal and people would be leaving cinema with tears in their eyes, just like Jane Goodall was leaving the lab where chimps were held in tiny cages looking like the torture cages from medieval times. The movies are strongly inspired by the book Next of Kin by Roger Fouts and Stephen Tukell Mills. They were the pioneers of sign language studies with apes. They cooperated with J. Goodall. Some of the scenes in the movies are insired by particular real events, like little Caesar accidentally born in the lab and the stupid employees not knowing they had pregnant female in the lab. This is how Fouts got one of his young chimps for sign language studies - the baby wasn´t supposed to be in the lab and the lab wanted to get rid of him. Or the scene in the "sanctuary" where the employees wanted Caesar to get killed by the other chimps. This is retelling of the event when some psychopathic boss of a "scientific" institution wanted to get rid of Washoe because she was able to use sign language and totally undermined the theory only humans are capable of using language. He wanted her to get killed by the chimps who were not fixated on humans and didn´t use sign language, but she survived. There was much more of animal abuse going on in the labs. Some of the chimps who were raised by the scientists from sign language studies were later sent back to the lab they were born in because they were technically still the property of the lab. Fouts and other scientists could do nothing to save them. These sign language using chimps used to comfortable big enclosures and daily interaction with humans and other apes were held isolated in tiny cages for years and they tried to communicate with the employees but were ignored. When Fouts managed to get to the lab and see his chimps again, one of them used sign language and asked for a key, so he could get out of the cage. They were all malnoutrished and depressed. Dr. Fouts also suffered from depression because he couldn´t get these chimps from the lab, they were expensive and his studies weren´t financed well because...I guess because he was sabotaged by some jerks who wanted to supress any studies which could prove animals are more intelligent than people think, so animal abuse could continue. He managed to buy and save some of these chimps later but not all of them. So Koba did nothing wrong.

Just because creatures are unable to speak and some people think they can just treat them as objects, which is just arrogant. Honestly I think it's more justified to use human traffickers, rapists ,murderers and KKK members to cure diseases as they knowingly ruined innocent people's lives as opposed to animals who have done nothing to anyone

Lil Kev I don’t think Koba is just a savage animal. Rather, I think he’s a purely evil soul, who’s constantly in pain. He’s cruel, cold, and calculated, but not savage.

Anyone calling Koba savage or evil is completely missing the point. Just looking at his scars should give you an idea of why he hates humans, but the makers of this movie, like Caesar, overestimated the human animal. Read _Planet of the Apes: Firestorm_ and then tell me you have no compassion for Koba. Why is it that so many people have to observe someone being mistreated in order to have compassion for them? It shows lack of imagination. It shows lack of empathy. It shows lack of intelligence.
