Holy crap guys, looks amazing. I can't wait to play this game. You guys are doing fantastic already and it's not even beta time yet! I'm very impressed. I loved Planetside.
Im PS1 vet since the beginning and i can tell you you will have a blast with this one, Ps1 is almost a decade old and i have played everything FPS that you can imagine and nothing can compare to this best gaming experience ever
+Rhyan Potter Because it was removed fromt he game somewhere in 2013. I was there when this menu was a thing. They have recently actually reintroduced this menu. And no, it was not a beta thing, it was a part of the release.
the menu has always been there it's how you upgrade passive systems. Just click like, "infiltrator certs" at the bottom of the loadout screen (or whatever class or vehice you're looking at)
other games really need to learn from planetside 2 lol. The same old 64 or 24 player system is just getting boring now. The dynamics just became flat out repetitive whereas in planetside 2 you can do countless of different things. It's an ever dynamic game. example: I sacrificed myself a bunch in pushing back tanks scaring them of my C4 for the sake of my sunderer and for my team to capture the console. in addition no one gives a single fuck about your kd.
But you’re most likely to buy daybreak cash after a few days, you just get that feeling” Damn, these other guys look cool, and I look flat out stupid.”
By doing just about anything that benefits your team in the game: Killing enemies, healing teammates, repairing viechles, defending and capturing facilities, providing spawning points etc.
TotalHalibut (The British dude), is the commentator for the E3 playtest demo. He had also been playing Planetside since 2003. He usually jokes about things being nerfed. And what about him made anticipated games bad? He's just commentating on what could happen and what is already in the game.
Its completely free in every aspect other than only some of the customization gear mainly the cosmetic stuff is paid . In terms of unlocking with cert points (points obtained in game) to give you a rough idea a gun is worth 700 cert points you are lucky to make 100 in 5 hours of playing if you arent in a decent outfit so unlocking stuff takes a HUGE amount of time but to be honest I enjoy that because it gives the game longer lasting appeal .
Been a die hard VS combatant since the beginning. Will be another in PS2. I honestly liked being the under dogs, it made it that much more fun to own some TR / NC. Their color scheme works well together along with their new design. Another plus is their OST for planetside2, it sounds great!
10 years and still kicking. I started in end of 2013. And i miss some most mechanics wich gived more meaning to tedy hold some facilities for their global efects. But still good.
This game has alot of open-ended possibilities and this is why i think this is the best FPS game out there now. I really hope the game can further emphasize faction loyalty and war between the three factions with the game being free to play and how that alone can recruit even the most ill-trained soldier to pick up a gun and have at it. I'd personally train them myself!
Terran is a term used very often in scy-fy movies and games, it means usually means "Human" or "from earth", you would be an idiot to believe SC was the first game that used the word "Terran" for a major faction
infiltrators will only be able to cloak for a limited time?! ... The reason I loved playing infiltrator so much was because it was unlimited/nearly unlimited (depending on the patch) and only showed while moving, and the slower you moved, the less visible you were. That made it really really fun to play as.
Man this is going to be awesome. Awaiting to help you guys with the stress tests! I have tried figuring out my old SOE account (played planetside 1 beta and reg) so I can check out my old chars..but....having issues remember the info haha. The artwork is awesome, great job PS2 team.
This looks beautiful! I am hopelessly torn between wanting to play beta because this is so amazing and NOT wanting to play it so you can add even more amazing things!
i am so excited for this, I've been looking at this game ever since it was announced. I'm still waiting on a key, but im definitely going VS. Can't wait to pilot a Scythe! keep it up guys
The art design is amazing the VS are my favorite looking their ideology is very much in line with my own. Technologically kicking your ass. I mean Technology equals might.
Well I never played, or heard of planetside 1 before I got news about Planetside 2. So im mostly used to arena based shooters. Most interesting I find the size of the battlefield and the amount of players fighting at the same time. I already liked the battlefield concept, since vehicles ad more awesomeness to any battle, so when I saw Planetside 2, and heard about the size of battles, my mind was blown... in a good way :)
Well, whatever this new "forgelight" engine may be, which apparently allows for massive people in one place without lag, allows 4-5 year old pcs to be compatible with planetside.... it must be pretty freaking amazing lol
Thanks so much for sharing your feedback with us. We'd love to hear more of your thoughts for the upcoming game on our Facebook or Twitter pages. Have you secured your beta key yet? ^Nightcrawler
There are only 3 roads that lead into the desert, both in and out. But from the desert, you have to climb a big ass plateau if you want to get into other places outside of those roads. It's much easier to get down them.
PS1 Vet here! Hearing about PS2 made me cry. Literally every single game I've played since I left PS1 was just a filler until PS2 came out. Now I'm in the beta, and oh my god. This game. THIS GAME. SOE, you've ruined my life by releasing this game, but I can still pay the electric bill for a few years without leaving the house so it's all good. P.S. I need my Lasher. Like... really bad.
Might I ask what the budget is for this game? You guys seem to be generating so much content. More so than some of the highest budget games on the market right now. It's amazing.
Imagine a huuge mmo playing space. You are free to roam wherever you like and do what ever you like. Pick a quite spot somewhere with your friends and do quad bike jumps over sand dunes and cliffs.
There is still a big community, and the game is certainly not dead. Of course every game has a life span and PlanetSide 2 has already been alive for a long time, but there are no signs of death yet.
