Fact. I think it looks awesome. Just cause it's not some super MMOFPS Crysis 3 game doesn't mean it looks bad. But then again this is PC gaming we're talking about, people love to compare overclocks, computer stats, fps ratings, etc so graphics are a pretty big deal. I come from more of the console side so honestly it looks great and graphics are a huge deal to me. I like it more during sunset though haha ;)
That was my exact thought process when I got my 3820. Just a minor overclock and I'm happy with it. I literally just typed in 4.2Ghz on my motherboard and left the rest on "auto" and so far it's completely stable. My 7970 was on the lower end so 1095 is the highest I can get without glitches. It's a lot of fun man you will enjoy it. I would invite you to join in on the fun with me but I get on so randomly and only on skype with my bro when I am, sorry. Enjoy! No problem, you're sure to get great fps with the Nvidia equivalent of a AMD 7970. I did however slightly overclock my 3820 and 7970 so the fps may be a little less depending. It's all minor stuff like a 4.2Ghz OC on the 3820 and 1095 GPU Clock from like 925 on the 7970 but if you know a little to a lot about computers; I'm sure you could beat my stats and get even better results. Yep Thanks! :) The range is anywhere from 30-112fps. Average like 80-99 not in combat. Usually 50-75 in battle. and 30 is the lowest I've seen with just ridiculous moments on screen and lots of Vanu(energy particle esc.) weapons being fired with 100+ ppl on screen. Definitely playable in any areas since my monitor is only 60hz and I'm not a super computer crossfire guy with 120hz monitors and crazy fps, just a dude with a 7970 haha :) Thanks for watching, happy holidays!
I'll be doing the minor O/C also. My 670 is the FTW so it's clocked over 1000 mhz outa the box. When I decided to build, the 3820 seemed like a good way to go because of it being the newer CPU socket. Also the MB will support SLI for even more updating later on. Cost effective + room for upgrades later. Really kind of excited to play PS2. Haven't had a good gaming PC for a really long time.
@Noctis L Hey, another question for the live gamer card. Is there any performance hit with this card while playing games on the same PC? Or does it completely take off the load frm the CPU
Absolutely none. I have tried FRAPS and all the classic capturing devices most use and all have dropped my fps in some way shape or form besides the Live Gamer HD. It uses like .1% CPU power if that it's kinda ridiculous. Basically long story short, you wont lose a single frame when playing games and recording at max 1920x1080p.
