Currently, 75% of the Earth's surface has already been modified. Driven by climate change, this alteration in land use directly affects the benefits that nature provides us, such as food, clean air, and water.
To address this global challenge, nature-based solutions are gaining prominence, such as the conservation and restoration of native vegetation. These solutions not only preserve the integrity of ecosystems but also offer opportunities for income generation.
In our quest to maximise these benefits, we have developed a methodology that identifies priority areas for conservation and ecosystem restoration actions worldwide. Some of these results are available on PLANGEA Web, a free online platform that supports land use planning.
