EPISODE 91 (part 2)
In this second part of the video we continue to hang more planks on the boat, getting closer and closer to closing up all the gaps and making the hull watertight. We discuss more questions that have been asked about planking, and an adventurous chicken closely inspects our work. Matt explains the new Butt-Block clamp, Pete talks about Whisky planks, and Pancho struts her stuff in the snow.

I disagree. It is disheartening to see that this has taken 90+ episodes and part of a finger and the boat is still not done. Hire 20 day laborers outside of homedepo and this boat would have been built by episode 9. Or Gorilla glued the original boat and done.

Thank you, Nurse. Most don't realize all that you and your sisters and brothers in smocks do for us. Having several nurses in the family, including my mom who just retired after over 45 years in nursing, I have seen first hand much of what they go through for their patients. Nurses are the real heroes of medical emergencies like this pandemic we are all going through right now. They do 90% of the work in hospitals for less than 20% of the pay as compaired to doctors and administrators. Anyone who has ever been admitted to a hospital, or had a friend or loved one admitted knows this to be true. You are lucky to see the doctor for 5 minutes each day, the nurses are there 8-12 hours each at a time, unless they are pulling a double shift because the hospital is under-staffed and they have to to take care of the patients. SALUTE to NURSES!

So true. Quite elegant and beautiful curves TallyHo has for sure. The line where the planking meets the stem is such a beautiful line in and of itself, but the curves of the hull are quite alluring as well. After seeing all this effort for the last few years, have to wonder what Leo was thinking when he initially planned to rebuild by himself. He'd take at least 10 years to finish by himself. I have been watching since the very start. I must say I am amazed at what is involved to build and all wood boat. I mean I know it took a lot but yet I was way off on just how much was really involved. In my lifetime, I am now 77, I had two professions, I started as a carpenter's helper then got into a steel fab shop as a helper. Got one of the guys to teach me to weld and became a welder. After 15 years doing that I got laid off and started my own business as a carpenter. Did some new construction framing and residential remodeling for another few years till the market crash of the 80's. Then went to work for a residential remodeling company till about 10 years ago when I retired. But none of that lifetime of experience would have prepared me for the kind of work and your assistance pull off. I am blown away by the kind of work you all do and the complexity of it. And the quality of it all is just amazing. I regret that I have not been in a position to come and work for you on this project for just the experience of being part of something so grand and amazing. You and all those that have joined you in this wonderful endeavor and experience deserve the joy and pride you will feel when it is finished and makes her maiden voyage. By the way I spent three years on and aircraft carried when in the US Navy as a very young man and have a great love of the sea as you obviously do. Congratulations on a most amazing endeavor and so pleased that you made these videos so we out here as the viewing public get a chance to share what you all work so hard on to accomplish. @@jerrymiller276 No way. It was built over 100 years. It was built using technology that was ground breaking for the time. Evidence found at the Noah's ark site has shown it was made using large hand forged riots in the wood.bit had to be built incredible strong and it was according to Gods measurements. The scale of measurement is still applied to large ships today.

@@TheJiminiflix A joke. Please. It was only a joke. But where do you get that it was built over 100 years. The bible and the Quran are both very unclear about this, with confusing information. There is no evidence of the building site of the ark. And no agreement as to where it came to rest. And I was unaware that ship builders anywhere still use cubits as the scale of measurements. Don't take my word for any of this. Read it for yourself from the only sources of info. Everything else is mere speculation. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

Lucky, other than not knowing how to fly. She uses her beak as a third leg to avoid falling, all very clever. Seems to be eating the roof of the boatshed now that her perch is pretty much gone, and having a go at video cameras. She certainly has charm, she'll miss the boat when it's done.

Your skills as a film maker are progressing as fast as your skills as a boat builder must have done. Tally ho is showing a really nice shape. It must be so satisfying to see her come back to life before your eyes. On another note, that dog is going to be so sad when you sail away, as will we all.

It is noted that the ever busy Inspector Green received help from special assistant Redfeather from the Northwestern Henny Tribe, most excellent choice. Well done. The planking is super. Dittoes regarding your management and planning skills development. It's easy to see (for an experienced team leader) that there is no serious friction in your crew...regardless of their background...and that's all to your credit. Another observation that for everyone who lays an eye on the framing and planking lines...the boat is real eye-candy...a pleasure to see. The only greater pleasure would be to actually touch the wood in place...as you do nearly every day. Hang in there...you'll soon be wishing to start another boat.

Tally Ho is emerging as art as well as a fine sailing ship. The camera work was outstanding this time. The light was just right and showed off the boat beautifully. I also found it totally appropriate that part of the music was Ragtime. Ragtime came into general popularity during the time that Tally HO was being designed and built. It swept the country in popularity. This is hilarious considering that this music was written and performed in the parlors of the bawdy houses of St. Louis. It was played to entertain the "gentleman callers" as they waited to see their "ladies". Nice to see that it was also played slowly, as specified by the creator of Ragtime, Scott Joplin.
