the other covers do have different color schemes inside. so the one with the "every day is a gift" cover has less bright colors for the months. The one I have also does not have the faux washi on the bottom of the pages but it does have the nice quotes. They also laminated the tabs on a later release so mine are not. The only thing I wish they had done is the monthly tabs did NOT have the calendar part on it and you could just buy the monthly sections to go back in to fill for a new year instead of just having to toss the whole system each year. Thanks for the thorough review. :)

I just bought this planner and a bunch of accessories for it at Micheals on black Friday, ended up being just over 20 dollars for everything after all the coupons and sales. I'm so happy! It's such a lovely planner. :)

I have a Happy Planner & I love it! I just purchased today my first Erin Condren & I am already having buyers remorse. It was nearly $80 for just the planner with my name. I'm thinking I should have just stuck with my Happy Planner. : (

You do such great reviews! I had decided, partway through your video, that this was the planner for me, but then a few things made me reconsider: The cover looked like it was showing every fingerprint; the whole planner was very wobbly; I don't like the Morning, Afternoon, Evening headings printed on the calendars; and, worst of all (and something I hadn't noticed, so I'm thrilled that you pointed it out) I hate that the week pages start on Monday. That would be SO confusing! Therefore, it's another Sad Planner.

Just got this planner and it's my first time using an 18 month planner.....Love it!! Only question is since it starts in july of previous year I am wasting 6 months of it since I am starting in Jan....do they have a 12 month or how do I adjust to make this work for me. This will last me till Dec 16 and then I will be getting one for 2016 so I am assuming June 16-Dec 16 will be again in that one. Does this make sense??? lol Overall I love how its laid out and for the months 12 months of it I am using it is perfect!

I've been wanting to check this planner out. I like the lower price point and the fact that you can add/remove pages as needed. One thing that drives me crazy with writing in a planner or notebook is having to write near the spine. It always looks so messy. With this I could take out the pages I want to write on and then pop them back in!

I'd like to try this planner. If I don't win which I probably won't then I'm going to save my Michael's coupons and over the course of the next months get everything for that planner so I can be set to go in 2017. It should be much cheaper to do it this way read this as within my budget. :) Great video and you always show everything so well.

I may be late saying this but the weekly calendar start on Monday because of the start of the work week and so the weekend days are together. Someone may have said that but I'm a little late to the planner game. Btw loving your videos!!!

This was such a great in-depth review, Jen! I appreciated the comparison to the EC planner as well. Super helpful! I'm currently using an EC and though I love it, the Happy Planner looks much more fun to use with all the interesting expansion sets and accessories. I don't know if the HP is actually more economical once all the accessories are purchased though. Even still, this was a fantastic review. 😍

I am so impressed with how cute and functional this planner is! I visited Michael's today, and guess what I got?! Mine is one with the "Good Things" cover. I love it! I am all set for 2016! I pulled out July-September to allow for more room without switching the rings just yet. Thank you for your review, Jen! So well-done, as always!

I went out to Michael's with my 50% off coupon and got one today. I chose the one with blue rings & the multi colored zigzag across the front. A warning, this one's monthly planning page is different from the other styles. I will probably revise the monthly planning page to suit me. Thanks for reviewing it! I could never afford the Erin Condren planner, but this fits the budget!

Oh! I also noticed another difference! The style I bought, only says morning, afternoon & evening on the Monday boxes. So that is easily worked around.

This is pretty terrific. I'm a hardcore filofax user but I'm really impressed with this and I think my daughter would enjoy this even more than she does her Erin Condren. Thanks for reviewing this -- maybe I'll gift her one for Christmas. :-)

I can't buy because I'm overseas, and international shipping cost is too much, but I'm going to make my own. I have rings and the Levenger punch (it works with ARC and the Happy planner as well!), and I'm going to create the calendar pages! I have created the Filofax pages, so this one is going to be not more difficult for me! Thank you for showing it! I love it!

I'm not sure if you know this, but Michaels allows coupons from other stores. Usually when I go I use a coupon from Michaels, Hobby lobby, and Joanns fabric store.

I'm already excited about my Inkwell Planner for 2016, but the versatility of the HP is something I would have jumped at. Maybe I need one to go with my Inkwell and my Filofax....

I am switching to the MAMBI happy planner in 2016 for my personal planning. Hoping I like it as much as I enjoy the EC life planner. I'm considering purchasing another for my in home day care. Always love your videos.

I have this planner and love it. I also have the home planner insert. I use it daily and it's is very user friendly. I just took out the months Feb-Dec 2016 and filed them away in my file cabinet for safe keeping. That way I didn't have to buy the extender rings. I really wanted the E.C. life planner, but just couldn't afford it and this was a great alternative, that is also great quality with great accessories! I am definitely a MAMBI fan!

I noticed the same thing right off the bat: Monthly is Sunday - Saturday, while Weekly is Monday - Sunday. I had never paid much attention to that before, but I looked back and every planner I've ever had is that way! So strange. Great review! I love your attention to detail. I just bought The Happy Planner on Saturday after much consideration between that and the Erin Condren Life Planner. In fact, I was so torn about my decision that I drove over to the Erin Condren office here in L.A. just today! I asked them if I could look at one of their planners and, after comparing them for a long time, I realized the thing I crave most is space and The Happy Planner gave me just a fraction more writing space for a fraction of the price! I'll be spending some of the money I saved (I also got mine for 50% off at Michael's) on adding accessories!

I JUST got my Happy Planner in the mail yesterday and I noticed the same thing about it being a little difficult to turn the pages BUT since it's October, I took out the months from July-Sep 2015 and the pages turn so much easier now. I think the smaller discs might just be a bit small for 18 months. I'm going to go ahead and put my larger discs on to make room for decorating. :)

Hi Jen, Thank you for the info on the planner. I was just getting ready to shop for Christmas presents for family and friends. This info took out the stress of what to buy them. With different covers, I can customize the planner with all the accessories to suit each person. So totally awesome. And. it. will.be .loads of fun to do. I can't wait to go to Michael's tomorrow. By the way, you are totally awesome. Fun to watch people that love what they do. I sincerely mean that. Please keep doing what you're doing. I use the ARC notebooks and have an ARC punch, I love how I can customize my notebook and planner any way I want. I'm more a list person so, the EC didn't work for me. I decided to use 2 planners and Interested in looking at the IWP A5 inserts.

The EC Planner is definitely my go to planner, however, I also use and enjoy the Happy Planner and all of the accessories. Some of the styles are not as colorful, so there are more neutral options available. I use the Happy Planner for projects, lists, and activities for my toddlers. I use the EC planner as my everything planner that goes with me everywhere. In my experience, the Happy Planner isn't as durable as a spiral or ringed planner and it doesn't travel well, so I avoid tossing it my bag or handling it as roughly as my other planners. Great review!

What kind of pens are usable in the planner without bleed through? I use a lot of regular ink pens, gel pens, and sharpie fine-point pens. I also use highlighters and stamps. I am looking for a planner with good, quality paper that won't bleed through. I really love the idea of a customizable planner, but paper quality is a big factor for me.

I like my HP, only problem I have is the pages get stuck while turning and I have to constantly adjust; other than that it's been doing nothing ok. I plan I switching to Erin condren eventually.

I was debating on getting a few of these things and am glad to see your review on them! Thank you so much! They also have them at Hobby Lobby. I bought mine a few weeks ago and used a coupon also. Hobby Lobby is convenient for me so if I am in the area, I stop by and grab a pack of stickers, etc and use a coupon every time so the price for each item purchased is very inexpensive. I just starting a youtube page and have a few Happy Planner videos if anyone is interested in that also.

A bit confused also on amazon is the one your fearuring and that was slightly more money, the one I previously mentioned was also an 18month planner but the price difference is quite a bit, not sure why, I am a novice at this so maybe im missing something, lol xxx

I did like this planner, but didn't enjoy that the tabs weren't laminated. But they have the Happy Planner kit now for less than $40 and they come in two different versions. Those tabs are laminated and the calendar is undated. I love the designs on it so much better than the original.

If anyone is concerned about it being "too colorful" look at the other designs on the mambi website. Mine has plain colored tabs and very muted colors each month. One style has no headings at all just three boxes separated by lines on each day. It's a great planner!

i love this planner and i think your review is spot on. the only thing i would add is that if you buy a different style cover then the inside is also different. the goals page is different and the color pallet is also different. i started with this exact one and later decided i wasnt a fan of the bold colors so i bought the blue striped one and the colors are more muted and more my style. it is a wonderful planner at an amazing price. iv probably spent the equivalent of a ec on it but it fits my exact needs whereas the ec would not for that price point.

I think a whole puncher is also available for that kind of planner. I think I saw it at staples, so if you have a paper cutter and tape you could make the inserts.
