@@planningcalm I'm a teacher too and many of the unused planner supplies I buy end up going to school...especially stickers as elementary school kids LOVE stickers!
Hi, Cat! The regret list is LONG, indeed! Stickers, unused planners and so much more. The unused planners are the worst because they generally cost so much. I will eventually use all the stickers, but it will take years. I'm sticking to using a dot grid notebook (so in love with them too) as a planner in 2024. Do I find myself looking longingly at premade planners? Yes, but I'm so stubborn and I'm not giving in!! Besides, I budgeted $0 for 2024 planning. Oh, and I have a pencil buying problem, as well. I have enough pencils for the Austin, Texas Independent School District! Sigh...notebooks and pencils...yep, I might need therapy!! Thanks for the video!!

I have never bought anything from Temu. Mainly because I am behind on the trends. I have some clear Midori notebook covers. As far as notebooks, I tend to get them from Walmart or on sale.
I hear you on the TEMU regrets. I've gotten some great stuff from TEMU but also some junk. I also got those monthly tabs and they were so thin and junky I ended up tossing the whole set as I could not get them to align right and they just made me angry! LOL. I also got stencils from there and I just never really reach for them. One of my neighbors daughters actually uses them more than I ever did so I gave them to her! And lastly I LOVE buying notebooks too...but I'm very picky about not paying too much for them. I have never thought of looking for them at thrift shops though so you just showed me a whole new rabbit hole to explore! Gotta love it. ❤
Ok yes! Thank you for these videos! I also fall into the trap of buying all the things just because. I have a sticker problem 😂 I’ve been trying to really curb my planner spending and not always fall into the hype of “you don’t wanna miss this”. Don’t get me wrong so use the stickers but I’ve got enough for the next 5 years if I never buy anymore. Appreciate you and your prospective.
Planner folks are all in the same boat (or at least a lot of us are lol!) I always tell myself no more stickers and then I’ll crack and buy some from my fav shops. I just love stickers so much!😂😂😂
Hi!😊 I love these videos, the bests and regrets! Very relatable, for sure! It probably sounds weird but with temu and shein, I would see everyone doing hauls and unboxings and I was like ooo! Especially the stickers and little binders! And I finally was like let’s go look and see, maybe I’ll find some goodies for myself and immediately, I don’t know what it was but as soon as the websites loaded I just had this bad feeling in my gut. I scrolled a little but I was just like nope and clicked out.😅 I’m a sucker for a cute pen. I have more pens than I know what to do with. I also use a hobonichi and not every pen is hobonichi friendly. I have had the conversation with myself, I’m good on pens, I do not need any new pens, do not purchase a pen Rachel. Then I go to a local store that usually has snacks and things and there’s a random cute pen display with puppies or something and next thing I know, I’ve got a new pen😂 Especially because it’s just one, not a whole pack. A lot of people have mentioned that same feeling. The struggle to find a good compatible pen for the hobo is a struggle. I never really found one that I liked. Let me know which one works for you😊
@@planningcalm the pen that comes with the hobonichi works really well for me with or without a pencil board. I have better luck with ball point pens than I do with gel pen. I also really enjoy the frixion pen in my hobonichi. And it probably sounds weird but I have this dr Seuss multi pen that I got from a grocery store and that works really well in my hobonichi too!! I think the key for me personally is ball point pen. Gel smears and takes awhile to dry and is more seeable from the other side of the paper. From my experience anyway! Hope everyone finds a pen that works beautifully in the planner they love!❤️
I’m watching and as soon as you mentioned the dollar store I have to agree, however, at times they carry silicone containers (they are great for organizing the fridge and freezer) and the sterilite brand which is also a brand Walmart carries. In the past they carried these thick white/ black plastic containers called drawer organizers with rubber silicone on the inside. Those drawer organizers are now sold at bed bath and beyond and the container store. I haven’t been able to find quality like that since 2021 and it’s a shame.
I hear you on the quality. A lot has changed since the pandemic. Unfortunately I’m Canada, the dollar stores are very limited and often expensive when it comes to containers. I love the Sterlite brand😊
My daughter-in-law bought three really neat trays with non-slip inserts (think they're supposed to go in the fridge), then decided not to use them. They're on my desk... I will find a use for them... eventually 😂
Can we say how perfectly your Channel name fits? ❤ I always feel so calm when watching your videos! I try to cut my spendings about planning to 0, because I already have enough. And I really miss those good old days when a pen and a notebook was enough! I'm really over the over consumption now. I don't like the plastic containers, I rallye liked the way the washi tapes looked in them but it isn't handy for me.
I understand the frustrations. I am over the over consumption as well. I want planner to be easy, calming and fun. Just a few things to make me happy. But then I understand that FOMO is real😂🤦🏾♀️
