Team Common Planner all day all year. I love B6 size…it’s my happy place. But more than that it’s pretty much identical functional space to the Cousin when you remove all the non-functional space in the cousin so I’m getting the same real estate in an easier to carry size. But for me more than that it’s the clean layout. I love the simplicity of the CP and the aesthetic. It’s just a beautiful blank slate of functional space. I have the A5 undated on preorder too for another purpose - because it’s not just the B6 size I love…it’s the whole package.
I feel that exact same way! I have loved B6 size but back in the day 7x9 was the thing so trying to find the B6 size was so hard. But now it’s a staple in the notebook world and I am here for it ♥️
I have and love both the Cousin and the Common Planner, and like them both for all the same reasons. In the end, for me the Cousin wins out, in that I love the paper, and I'd rather have more space than less, for days that I need it all. I'd rather have a bit of blank space then to run out. But, I still dabble in the Common Planner, so who knows really? Maybe I'll just use both as the mood strikes? Ugh!!! LOL.
Team common planner!!! The dated daily pages in my cousin were what kept me from it being “perfect”. I never used b6 before and I love it. Now I’m at the dilemma of what if I run out of notes pages. I think I will just buy the sterling ink notebook and continue the page numbering. I LOVE the freedom of Freeform from my bullet journal days and the structure of the dated front. It’s exactly what I needed.
My first “real” planner was the cousin, I struggled with the blank pages and felt like I was wasting the planner if I didn’t use every 👏🏽single 👏🏽 page. But since purchasing the Sterling Ink common planner I feel like I am able to plan the way I want to. I don’t feel bad if the page is partially empty so I’ve come to conclusion that B6 is where it is at (at least for my planning style). But I do miss my cousin….see, us planners are never really happy but still love what we are using, it’s so funny 😆
I like my cousin a lot, but I didn’t know about the common planner until it was too late. I dream about that planner. Seriously, can’t wait to grab one for 2024! It’s the perfect planner.
I wanted to love the cousin and the common planner- both are beautiful... the only problem is the grid. The 4mm is so hard for me. I always end up back in a B6 stalogy for the grid and paper. I currently have a B6 cut down to personal size. It's a happy place! 😊
Excuse my language here Julie But … Bloody Hell ! You are making me want everything 😩😩😩. That Archer and Olive omg I love the size, perfect for memory keeping and love the colour you chose 🤩. I’ve been tossing up with the Cousin and Weeks but have been lusting after The Common Planner since Cindy reviewed it on her channel - I love the guiding, how neutral it is, how I can have everything in one place, the bible paper with that crinkle sound. ugggghhhhh I may need to stop watching 🤣🤣🤣. I need planner peace. Birthday coming up and thinking it might be a good time to change it up ! You have all that I am considering but I need to choose one lol
I just love the Cousin! It fits all my needs and requirements… so good! I use the daily pages for daily notes at work. The only thing I’m going to struggle with is not being able to have academic year… but I’ll get over it lol
Love the Common Planner and I am waiting on the A5 undated Common Planner as well. I used to use the Hobonichi but I just love that there are no dated pages because sometimes I don’t need them….and if I need more than one page - I can. I can do a monthly budget in the back, etc…love the simple font and no red and multiple colors. I also ordered a Mossary A5 after watching Beauty by Starlet so I get the easily influenced. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm stuck, same as you, between the HoCo and the Common Planner! I was going to use the Common Planner as my health planner, and the HoCo as my day-to-day, but I might switch it... I use the 24 hours in the HoCo document when I'm awake and asleep, when I take my meds, and I journal in the daily pages nightly... So in march I might switch it up. Try a month in reverse. I definitely feel like I don't need both, but since I HAVE both and I love B6... and A5... I'm going to do my best. I totally get it!
great video! I use a Cousin for work - The week's section for scheduling and tasks with the dailies for meeting notes. I also use an A5 rings for home. Both share key appointments which impact each other - ie doctor appointments during work hours. I'm forever looking at and have owned the Weeks. It's just a little bit small for me. But I love it. The best Week's use was as a nutrition journal. But I didn't keep it up.
I love using my B6 Disc planner with diyfish printables, (and made some other printables for myself) , I love that i can switch up to any style (horizontal vertical or blocked ) if i want something different. The reason i like the discbound style is the ease of moving things around in my planner , and being able to add more or remove some sections.
I had the same issue at the beginning of last year. I tried a coil bound 12 month vertical for a while, transferred to a B6 with vertical inserts. Then tried horizontal inserts. Finally, I decided to give bullet journaling a try and I haven't looked back since😄 Thanks for sharing your struggles!!💕
I want to thank you. I always felt guilty switching planners mid-term. Did it anyway but the guilt was killing me. After following you on IG, watching you on the tubes... No more guilt.. And I'm no longer sticking in a planner longer than feels right... Which gives me a change to not get completly yul about a planner, so there's the change I can go back... and will go back.

I’m Team Cousin all the way. I do love the B6 size but I’m too scared to commit to the new size when I can’t guarantee I get it forever lol. I want all the books to be the same 😂 I also want to add that I love the simple pen and dot marker in the makse. It feels so fresh and so clean 🤍🤍🤍 I also have all the planners that are in your pile this year but I have found that I have abandoned the B6 and the weeks. I’m INVESTED in the cousin dailies
I work for a law office and use a cousin for that. Due to confidentiality I can’t take it out of the office but I love it. For personal I am struggling between a6 daily, a6 weekly and b6 weekly. I love the A6 daily due to the time line. I work M-F now so I really don’t need a daily so that is my dilemma. I can only have one and I use it as a wallet also. Can’t wrap my head around using more than one
I now work in a cousin and a regular size weeks. The cousin is my catch all for work and personal with daily pages for some details/time blocks and journaling. The weeks is now my health, wellness planner with habit & meal tracking. It is nice to have the two sizes because I can flip flop around a bit. I have a Coach notebook cover for the Cousin and just a simple clear cover with pen loop for the weeks. I would love to invest in a nicer cover if the weeks sticks around. It is too early to tell!

This year, I cut down an A5 stalogy to make it standard size. Hands down, my most used planner. I also have a vertical hp that I memory plan. I love trying different planners too and so usually I am in and out of planners all the time.
Yea doing the same thing in two planners and having to decide on which one...been there! LOL! I'm really curious about the Common Planner. B6 size has my heart. Congrats on 70K!
I was just about to purchase a B6 Gillio during the Valentine sale, still pricey. Thank you for sharing your planners with us, I definitely appreciate it! I'm currently using my EC daily duo in a5 and the a5 Hobonichi cousin by Aura Estelle x Annie Plans. I love using both of these as I also like to keep consistent in both planners. I've been using my EC daily for appointments (both work and personal) and other daily activities. I use my Hobonichi cousin for journaling. I use my stickers to add a bit of flair to them and washi tape because my doodles don't quite give it the "oomph" I need on my pages. I think that next year I might only use a Hobonichi for everthing as it looks like it can handle all of my appointments, notes, journaling and doodles, but we shall see.

I love the CP. I loved the Cousin until the CP released. Love that if I’m not feeling like planning for a day, I don’t feel have to. I’m not a fan of the pressure with dated dailies. And I also loooove the B6 size. Especially since the page is the same size as the cousin without the quotes. Less busy and easier to decorate/use in my opinion!
Julie, I'm neurodivergent and have been struggling a LOT with my routines recently. I've decided I'm going to use your habit tracking layout (from the Weeks notes section) as a guide and use it for my am/pm routines and habits! I've been annoyed trying to squish even my habits into the weekly layout, feeling like I can only include a little bit of my routine to save space, and this seems like such a great solution. It'll give me more room for detailed to-dos and notes, while letting me really break down my routines and habits into their smallest components (which I desperately need). I may even get a dot marker, as I've wanted one for months now :) thanks so much for sharing that page.
I currently have the EC Duo and want a weekly hourly, but with a chance to have an all in one system. But i dont need or want a 8x11 size. I would rather have something smaller like the B6. I'm going back and forth with getting the Cousin or the Sterling for what I've stated above. But then again, I'm also holding out for the new releases of EC. Being an adult is hard when there are too many planner choices. 😫

I have all of these same planners! Lol In regards to comparing and trying to choose between the Common Place B6 planner and the Hobonichi Cousin I really did not have to ponder it for very long. Yes, I love the B6 size but I tend to think about completing the full year and which will be better for archiving. Hobonichi hands down for me due to the quality. The common place planner is so flimsy, I just could not put my time and effort into it. I love the Hobonichi brand and the company. I use their books for journaling and planning! Enjoy your planners!

haha enjoyed the video - I know what you mean about Helen's Cousin - I love how she uses it! But I am totally loving the Common Planner right now - agree it is just the perfect size! I love the idea of the Cousin but I just cannot seem to fill the pages. I barely fill the B6 in the Common Planner. :P I even bought the notebook of course.
I'm pre-ordering the half year B6 from Sterling Ink. I have a beautiful Chic Sparrow cover for it. I'm thinking it will be easier to carry around with me.
Hi Julie, great video. I started with the A6 Original last year and upgraded to the Cousin Avec this year. I don’t see it nessecary to have more than one planner, but I understand each person is different.
Some of us would like to try the Common planner but apparently They underestimated how many people would want it because it sold out very quickly. I prefer the cousin layout anyway but so wish it would come in B6! That would be the sweet spot!
I'm really missing my B6 planner! It fits perfect in my purse. I still love my Hobo cousin though. Honestly I jump back and forth from A5 to B6 all year long 🙄
I love my Galen leather planner cover but I love yours even more. Can you tell me which one you selected. Oh, I’m having the same dilemma. I gave the Cousin a second chance and found my groove after watching your videos. My thought was the Common planner would be my little Cousin on the go….hasn’t happened yet.
I simply CANNOT do a Cousin - I hate hate hate the color and would not be able to get past it. Plus I love the B6 size. The Common Planner is currently my only planner and I’ve never done one planner before…ever!
I found the Common Planner too late! (Next year…) I am using the Cousin but the quotes at the bottom of the daily pages drive me crazy!!! Just give me a few more lines of grid please!!!
Like you I play around in many planners each year. Yours all look so cute--will you keep them all after 2023 is over? That is a dilemma for me as well as so many that I feel I cannot keep them. Just curious.
Maybe instead of duplicates… commit to one for 3 months. Then the other. 3 months will get into the habit and in depth use. Then you can really compare.
The hobos are cool and I do enjoy them but they are a quite bit over rated imo. Especially now that there are options like the aura estelle or the common planner!
Must not add another planner. Must not add another planner. Keep repeating. I want a Hobonichi Cousin. Do I NEED another planner? No. Still resisting, but I know I'll succumb soon. Gonna need to scratch that itch eventually.
