I really appreciate your videos! I’m a 62 year old black guy that has never written a book and don’t really know the process but your step by step videos make it really easy to understand! Applause!!
This video could not have come at a more convenient time for me!! Thank you for sharing, I needed these tips and this inspiration!! I am going to create my own schedule now and start setting down some dates for my future projects. Thank you for making these videos, they relax and encourage me so much!
It's easy to get overwhelmed when planning anything. My mind is spinning just watching you plan! That being said, this gave me some ideas on how I can organize the trillion ideas running through my mind *slight exaggeration*. Thanks for your videos!
Thank you so much for sharing every part of your journey with us- I've never been so close to finishing or publishing a book- your videos and resources have been such an important part of getting me this far ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing!! I just self published my debut novel The Markings. It came out last Friday and I had a decent launch since it was my first time! Love the idea of doing Hardcover releases of earlier books and adding exclusive chapters!!! I definitely want to do that when I release book two in the series. 👍🏼♥️
Number 7 happened to me!! I tested as an INFJ as a teenager and I had heaps of anxiety at the time. As a much mellowed adult, I tested as an INFP and it fits like a glove most days. I have big chaos energy though so there is a small chance I'm a quiet ENFP. Either way, finding my real type has given me a chance to work on my 3rd and 4th functions, and I have to say...somewhat reluctantly, life is better with Te.
YAY! I totally haunt SCRAP, our local Portland recycler of Random Materials, and get big ol' pads of paper for just this paper. It's so SATISFYING to see it all on your own custom calendar, I agree. :D And your handwriting is great! The lines are endearing
Thanks for the great ideas. I wish I would have done this in advance. My book is with the illustrator and it does not look like I will make my planned release date. :(
Good luck! I’m curious about how the lockdown could impact indie book releases. I’ve heard some publishers are having paper shortages and things like that. Have there been delays in the self-pub community? Are you worried about shipping delays for proofs etc.? Do you think that Amazon’s deprioritization of shipping books could affect your sales? Looking forward to all of the exciting things to come!
It's definitely impacted print publishing in a huge way. It took over a month for my order of author copies to arrive, shipping is obviously very delayed, but so is printing, so that has affected releases. However, ebook releases (for indie authors at least) don't seem to be affected at all (besides maybe a little longer review time) and especially during quarantine ebook sales went up! I expect that a lot of readers will shift to more ebooks until things level out. :) Thank you!
Hello Bethany. Love your videos. I was watching your video on Draft 2 Digital. So you're saying that D2D has authors using KDP software to format the book and then the rest is their formatting??? Please clarify.
Bethany, I seriously love watching your videos and yes I am a subscriber, but for this video I was hoping you shared WHAT you do not where you put your sticky notes. For instance, what exactly do you have to get done during those 90 days prior to release? Judy Prescott Marshall.
This one is about planning, but if you want to see what I actually do, I have an entire marketing playlist and an entire release playlist, both full of videos on those topics ;)
Hi, I am writing my 1st. children's book. The 1st. book has come out at 30pps (15 text & 15 illustrations). I would also like to do an audio book. I don't want to do the voice so where do I go to get someone at a reasonable price?. Also how & where do I market it and at what price?
Might be too late (but actually never too late to release your audiobook!), I read my book with Audacity, which is free and upload it to Audible. I think “read by the author” covers over any mistakes ❤
