Plans Have Changed | Our Second Property Left us Stumped

We make good use of this short season before winter arrives to work on a property we purchased several years ago in hopes of developing a rental. Things have since changed and our plan of removing stumps with an excavator rental doesn't quite pan out, however we were still able to clean up the driveway and load our conex for transporting.
We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure 😀
Thank you for watching and supporting our channel! 💙

Ariel, while most every guy loves playing with adult Tonka toys, never under estimate how great the impact of a wife who has and displays confidence in her husband has. It is your confidence in him that helps allow him to fly to greater heights. My wife and I have been married for 32 years and I can promise you that without her vote of confidence in me I would not have been able to achieve nearly what I have in life.

Just a tip with the excavator. When turning completely around, try putting the bucket on the ground in front of you, lift the machine up off the ground so only about a couple feet of the track are on the ground, then spin the tracks on the back. This prevents a lot of damage to your road as you have less track digging in and ripping it up. You also lessen your chances of jumping a track off if there is a rock. Taught this by my cousin, who I helped at times when he was short of staff. They really are a lot of fun, so it wasn't a big deal to do it once and a while.

Got a lot done that is for sure. I was thinking you might keep that land to keep equipment, etc that you don't have room for at your home place. Real estate is always a good investment. You were smart to buy a property that hadn't been lived on in decades and start developing it for another buyer. Alaska has an overabundance of properties for sale that are undeveloped. I have a lot of experience with this, and most buyers will not want to build on a property that isn't somewhat developed. Clearing it out and making a driveway will go a long way with getting a buyer, and equally as important, selling it for a higher price. Well done!
@brucea550
@brucea550 Год назад
True to a point, but someone buying 4 acres in willow isn't going to care one way or the other whether the stumps are piled or removed.The driveway still has to be fabric and gravel to be worth calling a driveway. Now, do a real driveway, drill a well and put in a septic, then you can make a profit.

I suggest you put down two concrete pads some distance apart, with a couple of designated fire pits, and plenty of firewood, and rent this property to RVers, Van lifers, campers, and/or hunters. There must be plenty of people who would love to camp in the woods like that. If there's a possibility of a fresh water well like you have at your house that's an added advantage. I've watched so many videos of people who are living out of their vans, tiny homes on wheels, and even huge RVs and they're all always looking for a place to park. If your fee is reasonable compared to the campgrounds and state parks you'd definitely get business.
