I applaud doctors like Stephan Esser, Coldwell Essylstein, John McDougall, Michael Greger, Dean Ornish and others who are doing a PHENOMENAL job telling people the truth. To be honest, if I were a doctor today, I’d be self-consciously ashamed at the absolute failure of my colleagues muddying up the waters for those who do it right.

Excellent excellent very thorough interview, will share. As an oncologist obviously, she kind of hasta recommend memos in colonoscopies, but on that factor listeners may want to check out Dr. McDougall‘s cautions on how those two testing procedures can cause cancer and colonoscopies can even cause death if the colon gets punctured. It’s better to just focus on doing healthy acts of prevention rather than going looking for cancer. Again, very powerful for an oncologist to be so clearly explaining the specific benefits of a plant-based diet for cancer patients. Thank you for having her on. It is a very timely one for me to share with a few friends.❤❤❤

She has old news about the cholesterol in eggs. It is balanced by other factors in the yoke. It is not significant to eliminate from average healthy meal choices. Again eggs are animal, not plant based. So if your meal choice is plant based, eggs are out.

Really fascinating - one thing that has always struck me though is the messaging about being overweight and breast cancer risk; having worked on a breast cancer ward we often remarked how slim and healthy those women were and how those admissions were so quick compared to other wards as they mostly had no other health problems or long lists of medications. It was exceptionally rare to admit a heavy woman with breast cancer.

Both times that I was diagnosed with cancer I was never offered to work with a nutritionist as part of my team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been a health nut since my teen years and interested in my well being. I feel the medical complex is money driven and if they want customers for the life of the patient then ignorance is bliss. I am naturally curious and ask questions, assess and re-assess life and when I know better I do bettter and in my situation it required firing my oncologist who flat out said "dont ask any questions, dont talk to anyone about tamoxifen just take the pill"!!! I found a very intelligent APN to add to my team to help me reach my goal of living a vegan happy lifestyle. Its a journey and life is good!!!! If there is ever a time to stop doing the same things we have always done then its when diagnosed with a potentially deadly disease, however, I did not have the energy to care and thank goodness for my support system. Love this talk and just the info on fiber and flushing out the excess hormones and pesticides was very enlightening and I learn something new every time. Keep up the fantastic work. Be Well💚

❤go steady n slow. Vegan is so good….do what you need at first to get off savory. Took me 1.5 years to get over animal products….try to stay high fiber ( whole grains, fruits n vegetables….) low oils. Walnut is extremely excellent, not walnut oil. Same olives…sunflower etc. use walnut or olives to make salad dressing. Slowly pulling salt as well….oils and salt increase cravings. Celery juice alone helps reduce cravings Keeping sodium salts naturally high for juice n greens. Lemon water helps as well. Drink 1 lemon and 32 oz every morning ( so cleansing and will help you eliminate cravings for meat ) savory is often a food addiction. Chef AJ and Dr Furman are best with this. Your body hast to have a lot of nutrients and minerals to stop craving. Xo I care and you can do this

Cannot believe the egg has so much cholesterol, I have ulcerative colitis and during m'y flare- ups I am monitored ( regular blood tests), never got high cholesterol levels! Which is apparently à miracle as I eat an egg a day ( sometimes two if I am eating an omelette for breakfast), I do this for years... however I am more like a flexitarian- pescatarian and I have given up red meat years ago and have chicken like once or twice à week. I try to eat unprocessed, no bacon, hot dog etc. The thing is that those who eat eggs and have high cholesterol do not ONLY eat eggs! Eggs alone do not increase cholesterol, it is the western diet that does! ( there are people who are like 90 percent plantbased who eat fresh eggs sometimes and do not have high cholesterol levels) The overall dietary patterns count for the diseases not the individual foods alone. But thanks for the info, did not know I was eating so much cholesterol, somewhat it is not getting to me...

It depends on the type and subtype of cancer. For example breast cancer( type); triple negative ( subtype).After spends hours and hours of reading peer reviewed medical journal articles I discovered that some cancer feed on fats, some on sugars/carbs which would include fruits and vegetables, some on an amino acid, etc. But one thing that seems to be a helpful common is total avoidance of ALL processed foods. Also regardless of type, it seems cancer patients have two things in common....unhealthy gut microbiome and toxins.

Great job Dr Ann! Has anyone told the carnivore herd about all this? They are pretty convinced eating lots of meat is the way to go........... I tried to tell some of them once and was booed off the RU-vid stage.....
@HidingFromFate
@HidingFromFate 8 месяцев назад
Many of them have heard, "about all this" but still won't accept it. They have their reasons, usually at the prompting of the community of "experts" with large followings who push full-on carnivore or to the lesser extent, animal-based keto diets. And especially when the person has also experienced a positive result from being on one of those diets. Best course of action is to simply share the information or links and state that you personally find this other way of eating more compelling. Eventually they may evolve to think differently (I did, at least). Anything more aggressive than that will probably trigger the backfire effect. They need to convince themselves, basically. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it won't.

If the oncologists advocate plant based diet, then there will not be cancer patients to give these expensive cancer treatments. No one told me to lose weight, had hysterectomy was told initially my endometrial cancer is stage 1b and not given chemo and a little radiation, thinking it's taken out and life is too short to eat whatever I want. The only thing I got when I ask them, is to "eat healthy" whatever that means. I know, I need to be responsible for myself but when I was initially diagnosed, I didn't researched because it gave me anxiety. Fast forward 2 years after, it came back and metastasized to my lymp nodes. Now, I need radiation, chemo and immuno.

However, I'm also raise pigs and chickens for food.....i want to know if these studies about meat look at the difference in people who eat pasture raised or grass fed meat VS commercially raised animals? I also think that traditional meat diets are accompanied with very poor quality ingredients like gravy, condiments, fried foods, cheese, processed meats etc....i want see a study on people who eat naturally raised animals and omit unhealthy food choices....I'm transitioning to plant based for the emotional side of eating animals more than dietary needs based on my thoughts mentioned above....

Thanks Chef AJ, I wish Dr. Pittier would lecture to elementary & HSchools. But I learned long ago that you can't talk about Politics, Religion or the food people eat. They just don't want to change what they eat. Its our horrible social conditioning since birth that keeps people eating the foods they grew up and what gives them diseases that can be preventable, along with cancers. After 30+ years I'm done telling others to help themselves to become healthy. SMH.

Thank you Chef, AJ, for bringing on great gas with their professional knowledge, and gifts, and sharing with the world! I’ve tried vegan, and vegetarian, knowing that animal flesh is not good for human consumption! I don’t like the way the plant base I don’t like to say diet because it’s the world die in it, but the way we sustain our plant base food! I’m already a thin, built, woman, and when growing plant base/vegan/vegetarian actually makes me look sickly! I would love to live a long, healthy life, but I don’t want to walk around continue to look sickly. I am not a big meat eater, at first times I do consume meat, which consist of some fish, mainly with bones, And plenty of vegetables, I do eat, yams, or mainly sweet potatoes! I am stuck in a hard rock as my dear sweet mother used to say, I really don’t know what to do in a situation like this! When one gets a certain age over 60 of age, personally don’t want to look like I’m sickly, I know exercises is important, which I don’t do that much, but continue to stretch daily! Please in the advice, I would truly appreciate also, these doctors are mainly in one high income areas, I am, now retired, and income is lower, but have a concern about my health! I truly believe environment plays, important role, and accessibility for people! Most of the doctors that you have come when your show, do not really refer patina mean for me, because of certain elements! It’s really sad when people wants to stay healthy they have to they have a very rich life of income to do so! Now, I truly overstaying understand that doctors I went to school for years, and the slash want to make a great income, but sometimes they are overly charging, the only the rich can afford, at one time I was considered middle income, but the world we live in so much grief. I don’t know what category the world has put me in, and I know I speak to a lot of hard-working friends. Some of them are still working in professional feels, but if you have lost the other significant/husbands, and now it’s only one income, I know this is a long text, but I needed to get my thoughts out, I pray that people will read this entirety! Especially, those that have children, who truly want to eat more healthier! in some areas, whole organic, fruits, and vegetables are not relatively accessible, which I make every effort to buy! Also, we have to remember that there are unfortunately, too many GMO, fruits, and vegetables! understanding/Overstanding, the little stickers on fruits/vegetables, if is another nine is supposed to be organic, but if it isn’t, and a three or four supposedly is GMO, I am truly elated, and thanking you Chef AJ for bringing Conscious, professional medical/Nutritionists /, who cares about people, health and their well-being! Again, thank you Chef, AJ🦋

“It’s in the back burner” because recommending nutrition, exercise etc, doesn’t pay the bills, doctors can’t make money from those recommendations. For example, I asked my oncologist about food sources aromatase inhibitors instead of tamoxifen because of the osteoporosis side effect of the drug, she was non-comital. So I didn’t start the chemical drug. I really appreciate Dr Pittier🙏🏾💕🌹

Kind of a cheap shot there. Most doctors want to do right by their patients, and don't purposely try to keep their patients in the dark about nutritional topics in order to make bank. The primary issue is that doctors receive little to no nutritional training. And they can have similar degrees of ignorance and misinformation about the subject as their patients do. They do however tend to keep up to date about medications. Because being ignorant about that can much more acutely (directly/quickly) cost patient lives given all the potential side effects and complications, such as negative drug interactions.

Vinegar even apple cider with the mother is very acidic and dehydrating. Try kimchi for a pre/probiotic. It makes its way to the colon. Fresh vegetables and sprouts ( have to grow on kitchen counter for the probiotic benefits) have loads of probiotics ( picked from a garden not a vons or ralphs😢

So does that mean you shouldn't eat celery? Also seems like fruits and vegetables also naturally raise IGF1.
