I love these types of videos, where you just ramble and ramble and talk and talk and gush and gush about your plant growth updates. Honestly, a video about anthuriums is always going to tick the box. More of these will always be welcome.😊
I really liked the no repot chat! Totally understand not wanting to leave the plant room. We are suffering from the same arctic blast where I am. It is so amazing to watch tropical plants grow when it is -40 outside. Stay warm and safe and don’t drive around in that garbage unless you have to!
The Tofu actually reminds me a lot of KOS... maybe a less desireable variant? KOS has so much variability, that it wouldn't surprise me if that was an early iteration or a seedling that didn't make the selection process
I’ve never thought of KOS when I looked at tofu before but I see what you mean! I don’t believe KOS has forgetii genes though but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some cross breeding of previous generations between growers
thats actually basically as dark as the Ace of Spades gets. people use angles and especially blue-purple-ish lights which make them appear a lot darker than they actually are in reality. Mine looks 100% exactly like yours, and when I took a photo under my aquarium's LED light, which is blue-ish, it appeared totally black.
I think some Tezula plants were selectively bred darker, based on photos from friends taken in natural light! But that makes me think maybe mine will never be that dark
I can’t do plant chores while listening to I’ve tried but I kept having to stop the chores and watch the video. I would have to back track and see what I missed.
I love spending time checking on my plants… I could spend the entire day doing that. I love to chill with plants. I love baby Tofu ❤!! I’m in Tx and we get iced roads. What’s bad is when it snowed, the entire city shut down but under the snow we had black ice on the freeways. The temperature will be in the teens tomorrow (Tuesday) and on Thursday it’ll be in the low 70s before the next cold front hits on Friday. Today we had ice, so I had a late start at work. There were cars stuck on the clover leaf on-ramps and so many accidents! I’m glad yall were together for support. Spider mites… ugh… I had spider mites on my Verrucosum, found them this weekend but they hadn’t spread to its surrounding neighbors. I thought I had irradicated those little boogers! It’s a constant battle it seems. Then today at work, I saw aphids on my Drosera sundew! I treated it. I’m going to have to keep an eye on it.
Oh Alice! I will,one day, have a Carla.. All I have is a crystal (on top of the many hoyas, monstera and orchids) Thanks for always making things clear for me.
Can't wait to see the updates!! Also, I love that mug in the intro!! I have a couple of plant pots (no drainage) from Chapters/Indigo, that are very similar vibes, but that mug is even cuter 😅🤣
In EU for spider mites i use a product initially made for Orchid which is called Kannemite ! It's a systemic pesticide and it's working like a charm i don't have any mites left on my plants and it didn't hurt any of the new leaves i got.
Oh I wish we could get that here 😔 Canada is super strict with pesticides which I’m not mad about but if only there was an easy option for spider mites!
I like to use Yates rose shield for spider mites, it’s a combo insecticide, miticide and fungicide. It’s pretty effective and I’ve not had any issues using it on my crystallinum hybrid emergent leaves.
I'm so jealous of how good you are with anthuriums! I love them but man, I cannot get them to put out more than a leaf or two a year. My last Lux leaf was in August. Last Crystal leaf was September, Bess in June, Forgettii in October, the list goes on. I'm discouraged!
Hi, just recently few days ago i bought antho4iums from Eddy Pranoto, have you ever heard his hybreeds? I got: -papil exceed -doroyaki papil -soj (spirit of javait) -forgetii silver x red spider The plants is going to ship to me in Phil on 23rd this month and am excited.. Im eyeing their papil red elephant, onari and red spider.. both are gorgeous
Isn't sp Peru just sp Silver Peru but mature ;) ? That's how mine is looking now... and it started so silver, almost white. It is still a very nice plant, but I wish I knew how to bring the silver back, I've seen the pictures of plants bigger than mine that were still silver. Thank you for another fun video!
I have a feeling that there are multiple sp’s being sold as silver Peru! I’ve seen square petioles, roundish petioles, heart shapes and more pointy lobed 🤔
@@youdontevengrowhere that could definitely explain why some are still silver when mature... mine has red square petioles and reddish margin, similar to the plant you've shown. But it's still a bit lighter so it might be a different plant after all.
My other one doesn’t have a red margin nor red sinus but it does have more of a silvery tint and red square petioles! It’s also way fussier of a plant. I’m convinced they’re different plants 😆
