This is a really well made video. I never comment on videos, but so often when I go to watch a video about a certain thing, the person talks about so much other stuff too. It was also nicely to the point without leaving any details out. I think you should keep doing videos!

Thank you you gave the best advice on how to plant the bulb, that doesn't show where it will be sprouting from!?! I had mine in a bowl with pond water, sitting under a light waiting for signs of life. I'll think I'll go ahead and put it in the aquarium! 👍

definately root feeders! these take off like crazy in a shallow flower pot with rich organic potting soil. top the soil with some coarse gravel, to keep it from making a mess.

Great info! I think this is the first time I've seen someone talk about propagating this plant. I've had this bulb a while and it was massive so the bulb ripped away when I moved it and what was left on it died back. The bulb hasn't grown anything back at all. It's been months since it broke off. I keep smelling the bulb and trying different sides but no growth and no rot. Not sure what to do. I'd hate to toss out a perfectly good bulb but I'm wondering if it is more driftwood than bulb.

If you pump more iron into the water, how red does the dwarf lily get? My first one is more of a copper/tan color, I don't know if I should add more iron to the water.

All mine is doing is sprouting leaves out the bulb only. No stims then the leaves just build then leaves. Does it take a while for it to grow stems

It depends on the bulb. Each one is going to grow slightly different. Some will send out many shoots while others may only send out one or two. Over time that can change though. Hope that help! :)

i got a seed pack with a lily, a water onion, and two aponogetons... lily and onion dont seem to be doing well, its been over two weeks and neither are growing as much as expected, the lily's got this really bad smell to it, and brown stuff is coming off of it. the onion grew a little but it's skin is starting to peel off and what has grown is now brown.. not sure what i did wrong or if theyre salvage-able

It took two months before my lily bulb put out some tiny shoots. If it smells rotten then it's probably a dud, but if it just kind of smells like wet plant material then it might be good. Sorry to respond to a two month old comment, but maybe it'll help someone else

Thank you so much! It has been a set up for quite some time! A lot of what is in there is is Rotala Rotundifolia, Java Fern, Java Fern Windelov, Italian Val, Amazon Sword, Melon Sword, Java Moss, and Crypt Wendtii. With this tank being as deep as it is, I have added CO2 which helps a lot in healthy growth.

@@rootedtanks3530 beautiful tank! With regards to the Java Fern, I have some in my tank and it constantly grows brown "roots" on the bottoms of the leaves. It looks awful. My understanding is this is normal, but it doesn't seem like yours has that at all and looks amazing. Thoughts? Thanks!

@@BlakeAdamsCO It usually has to do with the condition on the tank. If there is a good source of nutrients and light, I have noticed they don't send out the roots quite as frequently. Hope that helps! :)

It'll take a week to three weeks for the roots to grow in and you should start seeing shoots come out soon after. just place the bulb on top of the substrate.

It is all dependent on the bulb. A healthy bulb should begin sprouting in about 1-2 weeks. Longer or not at all if damaged, such as fungus or rotting.

@@alexanderholzman3256 If the white substance is hair or string like, it is a fungus. If it is fluffy and cloud like, then it is most likely biofilm. Fungus is harmful and the bulb may be a loss. Biofilm is a natural healthy occurrence in the aquarium.

I've have my bulb for a year now and never really grows... It grows for a month then melt down and come back and it's an infinite cycle... I don't know why and it's frustrating 🤣
