In the summer of 2018 I decided to build a pip shelf and put a few plants on it to green up my space a little. From there things quickly escalated as I realized I really enjoyed the way having plants around made me feel.
Before 2018 I was only interested in edible plants because they served a purpose. I thought why would I bother putting time into growing something that is basically a decoration that requires effort. But as one plant turned into 3 plants which turned into 10 plants I realized that having all these plants around contributed to my overall happiness and contentment. Being someone who is self employed and working from home most of the time greening up my environment has enriched my experience and made the process a lot more enjoyable and in turn has helped me become more productive. It's been a positive change for me. If you're also someone who works from home try getting some plants and see where it takes you.

Oooooooo aaaaaaaah. Yeah aren't the plants nice? Plants? I was looking at those shelves he built, did you see that they even had a rod going across for the hanging plants. Yeah and he says he's going to build a shelf across that other wall how cool is that! I know and it even gets better when the shelves match the hardwood floor, um scuse me gorgeous hardwood floor! Did you see that log planter on the desk? Oh yeah that's probably one of a kind! That man's got a green thumb. Thumb? Try Green hand! Should we mention the green and blue fern? Yes let's! Green and blue fern!

Can't "self isolate". I am an essential worker. Love your plants. I have a lot of plants too (200+). I let my spider dry before watering it with distilled water, no brown tips. If you really want huge leaves on that last pothos, put it on a moss pole.

Sorry for the late reply. Thank for the advice and wow 200+ plants. That's amazing. Hope you're staying safe out there.

You have a nice collection of plants. They're all gorgeous. It took me months to find a jade pothos. Plenty of golden and marble out there but no jade. It's one of my favorites now. You're right, I never had plants before but I found one plant beside the dumpster that someone had tossed, and now I have over 50. 😂
@forknvine
@forknvine 4 года назад
hahahaha. That's always how it starts. Just one. 50 plants wow that's amazing. Good for you. I'm sure you get a lot of peace from having all those plants around. :) So it wasn't just me that found it hard to find the jade Pothos. It's funny because I figured that would be the easiest to find. Thank you for the comment.

Thank you so much. The power of RU-vid :) This helps a lot now I can figure out how to properly care for it. I've been treating it like a pothos to this point. Appreciate the comment. Thank you.

your white and green one on your desk under the light, I think your soil looks very dense ? I like to use perlite in all my plants soil to help drainage .... maybe give it a shot? (60% soil 40% perlite) Beautiful plant collection! I love your shelves too 😎

Beautiful collection you have there. Being a plant person myself I can really appreciate a green jade pothos. I’ve been looking for one for a few years now and cannot seem to find one nowhere. It used to be a staple house plant in the 80s. Now everything is veragated

Beautiful plants. I started getting into houseplants about a year ago. I want to feel like I'm living in a jungle. Ha. It's so calming to be surrounded by plants. Good journey on your plant paradise !

Nice plant collection. I think that pothos is a Hawaiian pothos and not a golden pothos.

You have a beautiful plant collection. I would be interested in seeing how you built that shelf. I live in an apartment and don't want to put to many holes in the walls.

Thank you so much. Really appreciated. Let me ask you this. My plant is constantly dropping leafs and poping out new ones. Is that normal? Do you have any care tips for the pant?

Your pothos with big stem in front window look like hawaiian pothos
@forknvine
@forknvine 2 года назад
Maybe. I find these plants have different names depending on what part of the world you're in. A Marble Queen is called a Miami in South America.

Possibly. I've learned that the same plant can have different names depending on where in the world it is even though it's the same plant. Thank you for the comment.

Peperomia Ginny also wants to dry completely before watering. They need alot of bright light to color up.

OK thank you for the comment and the knowledge. I appreciate it. I'll put it closer to the window to get those nice red markings on the leafs again. Thank you.

Hey you guys! Who are you yelling at? All the other RU-vidrs out there. Have you guys seen the bird of paradise? I know it's here somewhere. Why do you think there's one here? You got to have a statement plant! Umbrella plant, monstera, you know, bird of paradise! Have you guys found it yet? Dang it, I know it's here somewhere! Maybe it's in another room. Yeah it's in another room!

Tradescantia of all types .... everything I read online says keep moist but not soggy. I disagree... Mine prefer to dry completely before watering all the way thru and then waiting til bone dry and soak it . I've had 4 varieties for about 18 years and they're HUGE!!

Thank you for the comment. Appreciate the knowledge. I've been treating them like Pothos and watering them once they get dry/ That Wandering Jew has been tricky. Maybe it is just a lemon.

Some people call it a raindrop peperomia and some call it a teardrop peperomia 🌱🌱🌱🌱

There are green ones and variegated ones. So easy to propagate ! Just don't overwater it and it will grow so fast! They really hate being over watered!

Thank you again for more tips on plant care. It's really appreciated. Raindrop or teardrop i'll look it up. Someone else called it a Pixie Lime. I'll google it all. Thank you again for taking the time to write your comments.

The larger leaves are from where they have been cut from a more mature plant look on google to see the plants in the jungle
@forknvine
@forknvine 4 года назад
Thanks for that info I'm going to go look into that. That's what I assumed larger leafs with larger nodes make larger plants when propagated. Thanks.
