Hi Peggy .... Just watched this video & I love how u & I are alike that we give our sick babes every chance to survive.. ❤ Just love that. Also you have my Most Ever in My 74yrs Absoutley Love The Pink Princess... Fell in love when I watched Amanda cut it up to take to Fla. & their ....Greenhouss so they could propagate her & adventualy sell them. I almost cried to watch her cut that Sweet Beauty up. But by price she is way out of my SS budget. 😁 So mabey & I'll get lucky & Her price will come down before I kick the bucket .hahaha Well heck we all have to hey. Love ur plants Peggy & as always listening to u.... You should have a radio show.. It Would Be a Hit. ( smile but I Am SERIOUS.... Thanks Peggy

I didn't see the video when she cut the Pink Princess...I don't know if I want to see it! 😳 It's funny how we can get about some plants. I took a cutting from my Dubia recently for a trade and it literally stressed me out. I was so worried the plant might die. I think I will be a long time before I am able to cut my Pink Princess. A little tip on the treubii...in my experience it takes FOREVER to root. It kills me how slow they grow. And even when it started to grow roots it took so long for them to grow 😅 so don’t give up! It’ll get there eventually lol

I just watched your video on the sick alocasia Tiny Dancer. My 2 plants were really doing poorly so I took your advice and took them completely out of the pot and cleaned them off. The roots were great so I knew that wasn't the problem. It felt mushy at the base of the plant so I figured it was a rotten corm. It wasn't! There was no corm at all. These plants were obviously divisions and the bottom of the plant and top of the roots were enmeshed in netting! I cleaned all of that off, repotted them both into new pots with a fresh soil/grit mixture and I am so hopeful they will get healthy and beautiful because I waited a long time to get them. So thanks so much for the original video and this one to follow up. ♥️

@PeggysPlants
@PeggysPlants 4 года назад
Sorry to hear your Mickey isn't doing well. If it was in soil when you received it, I would say do nothing and let it acclimate, unless it is extremely dry. If it was bare root I would probably put it in water and leave it to hydrate if hydration is the problem. It's hard to tell without seeing the plant, soil, roots, etc. The good thing about these plants is they have rhizomes. I've had to chop all of the growth off of mine twice and they sprout new leaves quickly. Good luck!

Hi Peggy, Found your channel after your interview with Christian the Crazy Plant Guy! Was very interested in your propagation station as I’m setting up my own. Thank you for highlighting the Mars Hydro product. Will consider buying it. My question has to do with what happens to plants AFTER they do well under the grow lights. How do you transition the plants to regular room light, or do you need grow lights forever for these plants. I don’t want grow lights all over my house. Thanks in advance for your advice. Let me know if you’ve already done a video on this subject. 😘
@PeggysPlants
@PeggysPlants 4 года назад
Hello and welcome to the family! I've never had a plant really show a reaction to being moved from under the grow light to natural lighting. I think, as long as the plant is getting as much light as it needs, it will be fine once moved. If you feel that a plant does seem to be stressed from moving it, try moving it away from the light in increments. Hope that helps. Stay well!

Climbing plants tend to have larger leaves when they are allowed to climb and yes, the climate here is perfect for year round growth. My wild snake plants are thriving and I've had no problem with them. You are the first person to ask about the whale fin giveaway. Well, it never happened although I still hope to do it soon. The one I was going to give away split down the center, another one ended up with browning from a but chewing on it and then, I ended up dealing with a spider mite issue. Even though it's a giveaway, I want the plant to be healthy and pest free. Only the best for my viewers! 😄 I think I may have one ready to go soon. Thanks for asking!

Hi! Do you have a link to your potting mix. Do you use the same for all? I've been using a coarse orchard bark w/ charcoal, perlite mix and Miracle Grow cactus mix. Sometimes adding Miracle Grow indoor potting mix depending on the plant.
@PeggysPlants
@PeggysPlants 4 года назад
I don't have a link. My mix is pretty basic. Cheap soil and perlite. That's it. I will probably do a video soon to explain since I get this question so often. Thanks for watching.

May I ask how often you water your retusa? And do you let the soil dry out? Mines the same size nursery pot and I’m afraid of it lol
@PeggysPlants
@PeggysPlants 4 года назад
LOL, I can relate 100%. I have a few plants I'm almost afraid to do anything with. I live in a humid climate and have my retusa planted in 50% soil and 50% perlite, so it doesn't hold much water at all. I water about every other week and yes, I let it dry out between waterings. Hope that helps!

Wow Peggy, that giant Pothos is absolutely amazing! So, they're not native to Florida?

What care do you need for an alocasia mickey mouse bulb?
@PeggysPlants
@PeggysPlants 4 года назад
In my climate, I treat it just as I do the plant. It stays on the porch in the pot with indirect sun. Indoors, I would keep it in a warm area and probably bag it up to maintain humidity until it sprouts leaves.

What's your spider mite solution?
@PeggysPlants
@PeggysPlants 4 года назад
I'm using a neem oil mixture and it seems to be doing the job. It's difficult because I have many plants indoors and on my screened porch. Right now, everything is having to stay put.

I feel like often, when I buy a plant that I’m so in love with... I end up having to restart it because it doesn’t love the transition from greenhouse to home. It’s disappointing 😭
@PeggysPlants
@PeggysPlants 4 года назад
It's very disappointing. Most times plants I purchase locally transition well. Other times, it's a fight for the life of the plant. I always assume that plants that have to be transported via mail will need some special care. When they don't, I'm thrilled. Thanks for watching.

Bionca Hansel That happens to me as well. Took a minute to figure it out. It’s big and lush at the greenhouse then weeks months later it not so good. Not thinking bout all the light and humidity it was getting there. So now MOST times, no matter how much I fall in love with it if I can’t match the conditions that got it to that state, can’t bring ya home. Usually means I have to get a much smaller plant.... if I get it🤷🏽‍♀️🤗

@PeggysPlants

Honestly, I may not be the best person to give advice on that plant. Mine has had to be cut back 4 times for spider mites. When they are behaving, mine love humidity, and I keep the soil slightly moist with indirect bright light. Hope that helps.
