Hello, The brown part of sprouts is the seed coat, it will eventually fall off and the new leaves will come out from that end.

@@carolficorilli9768 Sorry i am not sure about that, but it doesn't matter if you plant the seeds horizontally like i did.

You can remove the little 'fur' from the seeds and go ahead. Thank you .
