The hydrangeas are GORGEOUS. I'm in NZ and had that same feeling of falling in love when I first set eyes on a white lace-cap a few years ago. It's still thriving and has spread and created a few new plants along the way by layering itself. Your garden is dreamily beautiful. I also like your husband's dry humor re your plant-buying.
I love the Pop Star hydrangeas. I kept a lookout for Walmart to mark theirs down and they finally did. I got 4 for $10 each along with 4 Bloom Struck for the same price. Love the hedge of blue💙💙💙
Tractor Supply had some crazy Blue Popstars, but I got mine at the UT plant sale which were much cheaper, but they are blooming pink as is a Bloomstruck which is bluish violet in my backyard. Also got the pink Twist N Shout which is the best for pollinators. The soil was recently brought in when we built the pool last year. Guess I need to add soil amendments and acidifier. Your Blue 💙💙💙💙 hedge is absolutely stunning!
Beautiful hydrangeas!!!!! I plant a lot of hydrangeas too up here in Richmond. I have Bluebird lace caps and Tellers Blue along with many others. Everything looks heavenly! Thank you to both of you for such a great video! Enjoy your pool and family time...great way to end the day! ✨❤🤗
Beautiful! I just bought one pop star hydrangea and in love with it! I was looking online for more information about it and stumbled on your channel. We share the same the same enthusiasm for this hydrangea!! 😀
Your Pop Star hydrangeas are georgous! I just got the last Pop Star at my Home Depot yesterday. $35 for mine. It's smaller than yours but compact already and blooming that georgous blue on every branch. Usually the new Endless Summer hydrangeas fly out of the garden centers near me so I was lucky to get one. Hope i can get more. Wish I had your yard. I would be in heaven with the beautiful plants and shrubs. Looking forward to seeing yours grow. Great video!
Just bought two of them in Lowe’s today. I don’t really have any more space for them in the ground but since they were 50%off I could not resist. They are so pretty, unique & compact so I decided to plant them in two containers. Good luck with your garden it looks beautiful.
The blue wall is beautiful! I just wonder with them being so close together that there might not be enough circulation? Although, if it’s not especially humid where you are you’re probably ok. The auger is a game changer.
My daughter is a manager at ALDI and she sent me the 411 on the Pop Star Hydrangeas being available there so,… I ran and grabbed myself 4@ $12.99 each they are gorgeous ✨🤍
The hydrangeas look gorgeous, I have so many pinaculata hydrangeas I wanted some blue and maybe purple ones although I could only buy 1 today, I have to see how it does where I have it.
I realize it's really early in the season but I have to ask, how are your popstar hydrangeas looking this spring? I live in Indiana, all my other hydrangeas are budding out and these are still looking dormate. Just hoping they are a later starter.
My wife saw the pop star hydrangea & loved it. I planted it but the flowers are wilting. Its in morning sun, afternoon shade. Is it possible im over watering it? I'm new to gardening, any tips would be appreciated!
Hi! Did you plant it recently? Where I live it is really hot and the best time for planting hydrangeas is winter/fall/spring when the temperatures aren’t blazing. We’ve had an extremely hot summer so far! It may just be having a hard time adjusting to the heat since it’s not established yet. Keep watering-deep watering! The morning sun/afternoon shade sounds like a perfect location though. The hydrangeas I planted in this video did not end up making it cause we didn’t have irrigation yet but I replanted them once we got irrigation and they are thriving. They get water morning and evening right now so keep up with lots of water! I hope this helps!
@@summermoongarden Hi, yes - I plated it recently. I'm in the north east & it's been 80s into 90s heat recently & very humid. I've been watering it daily after work in the evenings. Everything else I plated took fine but the hydrangea is struggling for some reason.
Are you planting the Pop Star hydrangeas in a mostly shaded area? I am looking for hydrangeas for mostly shade that don't get very big in a smaller garden.
