You 2 handle those unforseen issues that come up, so well!!! My husband has to go through 2 hours of eye rolls and hand waves and then he begins to think of how to fix the problem. Ugh! It makes the projects take so long because, like you said, stuff always happens that you aren't exactly expecting. He watches these videos, too, and they are helping him to see that "stuff happens" all the time and it's how you deal with those things that make such a huge difference in the day. God bless you! You teach us so much more than just how to plant a flower or tree. There's great life lessons here, too! ❤💚🙏❤💚🙏❤💚🙏❤

Thank you so much for showing us the pipe snafu. You could have easily edited that out, but by leaving it in you taught us a little something and you prove that this kind of headache happens to the most experienced gardeners as well.. I love it when that cats show up, I had not seen the black one before.

Thank you for showing us the troubleshooting and recovery! I watch Garden Answer with my 6.5 year old daughter regularly, and she really struggles with perfectionism. I have been showing her how I regularly mess things up, but you can learn to just laugh, dust your shoulders off, and try again. This will be the PERFECT episode for her to watch and see how even Laura makes mistakes, but you can keep a positive attitude and move forward. Thank you, Laura! You are such a positive role model.

I love how this turned out! When you were first talking about it, I was having difficulty imagining it. But man, did that brightness in that location make a huge difference! You are so wonderful for showing the “real life” aspects of gardening. It’s so true. That’s just the way it is, and why we love you guys so much! Your honesty and authenticity comes through in each video, just as much as your creativity and knowledge of gardening. Sorry for a ramble, but wanted you guys to know I appreciate y’all! 💚🌿🌸

Hydrangeas add so much beauty to our gardens & landscapes! It's difficult to NOT find a place for them! Your garden has such great places to plant a drift of them & I just love the different varieties you've planted. These shorter growing ones are especially nice in your kitchen garden. It's a little difficult for me to imagine how they'll look without the caladiums & coleus around them; but, I'm sure you'll replant more coleus next spring...so, not a problem! As far as the broken pipe goes, I had no idea that parts like you used for the repair even existed! What a wonderful "option"! Thanks for the info, Aaron and thanks to you both for another great video! 🌾💜

Hi Laura and Aaron! Those Hydrangeas are really beautiful where you planted them. They made such a visual difference for you to look at. I agree with you, you need more to fill the rest of the area. Too bad about the pipe, but you always handle those mishaps so well. It was good you had Aaron with you when your got the parts you needed. So much easier than the gluing. It was nice that you included the repair in the video for those who can use that information. It's so much appreciated that you keep things real for the viewers. If possible, would you show us your view from your kitchen window? That would be fun to see. Thank you for sharing! BTW, it was nice getting to see Russel and No, too. 😹😹
@flashbang009
@flashbang009 5 лет назад
You can also fix a section like that by gluing a 90 degree fitting on each side pointed sideways, then glue up a "U" shaped piece that simply slides into the 90s. It requires a slightly wider hole but when those compression fittings either won't work or don't make sense, you're not forced to dig a long hole to allow for picking the pipe up to make a traditional fix work. Great job!

The flower bed is just gorgeous. Isn't it funny how hydrangeas are always appropriate? We have a kitty who visits us who looks almost exactly like No, only his name is Guido. At least, to us he's Guido. Pro kitty tip: offering him something super delicious on the regular will encourage him to allow you to pet him. Dry kibble is okay, wet food is good, treats are fine, but sardines are better. Especially if you ever need to trap him for any reason, like if he were to get injured and need veterinary care. Builds trust. Good luck! ~ Lisa

The only bad thing about planting so many hydrangeas is how sad they look for more than a month after pruning in the late winter. They look like stick skeletons. Even in the winter (even if you leave their blooms from the past season on), they look like stick skeletons.
@CatherinesGardenHomeLWS
@CatherinesGardenHomeLWS 5 лет назад
@@Bamboo4U2 That's true. However, I like the process of seeing them grow and when I am rewarded with flowers, I am so happy. It is also important to plant other things while you wait like alliums, tulip bulbs, and peonies. They help to distract you from the look of the hydrangea shrubs. Thanks, Jake!
