My peach tree guild is on a section of my swales and needs further planting. A guild in permaculture design is a collection of plants that have various functions that support each other while producing valuable resources that we can harvest. I talk about my plan for this guild and about the different functions of plants that are selected. I also show how I go about planting them out.
I use Plants for a Future website for my plant information

The little bird is your native cheering section, he seems to like what you're doing! Looks to be a very nice start, I'm envious (in a good way). I've just begun my own site preparation cleaning up an inherited property of leftover junk, crumbling outbuildings, and doing what I can to remove a couple of non-native invasive plant species. Lots of work ahead!

Thats not the first time he has kept me company - such a friendly bird! How exciting for you. Nothing like having multiple projects to keep you on the go - I say!! Good luck with it all !

Thank you so much!! I just love doing this and feel very privileged to be able to do so. It should just keep getting better - thats the plan anyway!! 😊

I would be so daunted looking at the size you are dealing with and all that grass. I really like your planting method, how you didn’t try to get the whole guild looking perfect but each plant went in with all the support you could give it.

Thank you !! I've learnt that there is no point keeping the larger picture in mind but by focusing on small sections at a time you can really move things along. In fact I've just watched this video again, having made it 2.5yrs ago, and its amazing the growth over that time. I think you've inspired me to make a before and after type video on my peach tree guild to show how things are going and to maybe add in some more layers to the forest! Thank you so much for watching and for your comments!!

Hi Heather - thanks so much for subscribing! I listed a few plants in the video including herbs - rosemary, oregano, vietnamese mint. The peach trees - red haven and golden queen. My support species which are nitrogen fixing legumes are tagasaste and acacia species. Other plants mentioned are wormwood, chamomile, comfrey and gooseberries! Thanks for watching!
