Oh wow you trim the roots on the leeks too! Who knew you could do that, very clever 🙌

Heyyy I do it each year and they come back fine 🙂 just makes them go in the holes easier lol Although someone did leave another tip in the comments if you didn't want to trim the roots but it's never done mine any harm. Hope you are good 🥰🥰

I have to sow more leeks and spring onions. This is a super easy way I’ll do it like your dad now 💪💪. Happy growing, Ali 🌧️🌥️🇨🇦

Thanks Ali 💕 In time the soil works its way around the leeks but its really easy. Especially if you have the stick handy 🤣 just make a load of holes and pop them in. Today has been a scorcher. Have an amazing weekend. 👏 🥰

If you keep the roots long, as you insert the leek into the hole in the ground, you give the leek plant a spin between your thumb and forefinger - that causes the long roots to wrap around the leek stem and fit into the hole. I have used this method for several years (learned about it in RU-vid!). One additional benefit of this method is there is never dirt between the layers of the leeks.

Hi thanks for the tip. It really is a easy and effective way to plant them that's for sure 👌 😀 We just learn as we go too from youtube or trial and error and take tips from my dad. Thanks for stopping by

I clearly separated mine way too early lol 😅 I will leave them for longer next year Same for my onions

Were they hard to separate? I left these maybe a week or so longer then usual just because we have been super busy but it really was as easy to plant these out as the vid showed 😅

@@traceysallotment2506 they weren't too difficult to separate it's just that I thought they were going to die from the heat. I tried to keep the soil moist and just when I thought they were dead they started growing back. Let's see how they go

@TheMalcolms7 my peas were lush and green when I planted them They looking a bit yellowish at the min but sure they will bounce back. 😉

@@traceysallotment2506 I did fi any peas this year I've had that yellowing before too I thought it was because of lack of water 🤗

@TheMalcolms7 your most probably right as we only go to the plot once a week. I did say to Carl if it doesn't rain on a Tuesday or Wednesday we need to go water. It's forcast rain tomorrow so that should see us through to the weekend lol
