This is my first time trying no-till corn. We rented a new farm this year and there was no time for tillage. Planting into pasture ground and a hay field. I'm using my 1966 John Deere 3020 and 1974 John Deere 7000 planter. Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching!!

It is taking 2 to 3 weeks for the burn down to do a complete kill here in NW Ohio. Those who mixed a residual with their burn down have had the best start for this year. Good luck.

It has finally pretty well all died. Still waiting on the ground to dry after 7"s of rain since the 6th. Seed rotted so I'll have to replant!!

It has been a weird spring. Too wet, then too dry! We had a good rain yesterday. The last corn I planted was sure needing it.

Planter worked well. Corn seed on the other hand did not. 7" of rain and the seed rotted. Time to replant!!

What did you spray before you planted to kill everything and how long before did you spray?

The coop sprayed for me. I'm not sure exactly what they used. It took about 3 weeks to kill the grass down and then sprayed it again with Roundup after the corn was up.

Awesome! If I start farming someday I want to notill. Did you have any weight in the insecticide boxes?

Thanks! No, I didn't have anything in the boxes. I did have to tighten the tension on the down pressure springs. Didn't have any trouble getting the seed in the ground. Thanks for watching!!

The field I planted in this video had to be replanted because we had 7 inches of rain on it and the seed rotted. The rest of the farm and the replant done very good. Have a real good stand and the corn is doing nice. Thanks for watching!!
