Wow, what a great bunch of plants! Nothing makes me happier than discounted perennials. I have a good many rabbits this year also! We are not getting much rain, and it's been so hot and humid! I'm hoping for rain this evening. My plants in my vegetable garden haven't faired well at all even with watering twice a day. Everything is so beautiful there. You have a definite green thumb!❤😊
Wow, Jes, lucky girl to get free plants and very low cost plants. Those bunnies are getting big. They really like your gardens. Such a great video, Jes. You never run out of space to plant your great garden plants. You are truly blessed. Have a great weekend. God bless and take care. Cookie in Mandeville Louisiana
Unfortunately my lawn is not nice grass...it is probably about 75% clover. Therefore bunnies are happy with that and leave my plants alone for the most part 😉 What a great deal on those plants 🤩 I wish I could find a deal like that 😜
Hi Jes. My husband and I are now retired so he finally has the German Shepherd dog he's always wanted. And now we don't have a bunny or squirrel problem. Our puppy's name is Chico. He doesn't kill them, but he loves to chase them.😊
Jess, love watching you garden. The best part is you and Nate do it all yourselves. Your doing the work just like us regular people. You’re so inspiring and I thank you for giving me extra get up and go. I think after watching you if she can so can I.
You are an absolute sweetheart! 💘 Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers. We are still without power, and it’s oppressively hot! They are saying we won’t get power to my neighborhood until the 15th 😭 I can’t watch much RU-vid to save my phone battery; but I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you ❤😘
Great haul!!! Jess I really appreciate you letting us know when the Meijer plants are on sale. I've gotten some great deals from you doing that thanks! ❤😀
Jes you scored big time! I love the fact that you are planting up this new area of your yard it’s gonna look amazing! ❤❤❤ p.s. I have to agree the “L-plant” is looking gorg 😏
Great looking areas. I love them all. An idea when you plant things you can use cardboard and it helps suppress weeds. And it is good for the gardens. It decomposes after time. You might have to redo every couple of years or so. You got lucky on the cheap plants. Have a great weekend. Stay safe!
Those baby bunnies are cute but so hungry 😂. I deal with them in my garden too. My hosta is near to the house so far they have left it alone. I also use liquid fence for my annuals. The rabbits are somewhat deterred by my rowdy dog. Love your garden and the Mackinac Island movie was so much fun. ❤
Jes. Love all of your movies. I know the bunnies are cute but I think might be time to spray with liquid fence or trapping & relocate. I have a small garden and have to put cages around my cone flowers and daisy's in the spring or the bunnies will eat them to the point of killing them. They don't seem to bother my hostas but have tried nibbling on the astilbes. I have also resorted to a water pistol when I see them in my yard. I think the neighbor's get a chuckle, seeing the old lady chasing the rabbits out of her yard.😂
I would love to live next door to you. Such a beautiful place. Love the flower haul. Need to get around here today and scout out some more perennials for my flower bed.
You have such a beautiful garden. I have lots of bunnies and I can’t put coneflowers in the ground as they will devour them. They were dining on my sunflowers and zinnias and I used the liquid version of the fence and sprayed my plants according to the directions and they haven’t eaten them since I did that. Have a blessed day.
Beautiful plant haul! I don't have many rabbits because we have a bobcat and hawk. They keep the squirrels in check too. Wish something would take care of the moles. Thank you for sharing your plant haul.
I am very envious of your plant haul. They look so healthy too. Bunnies have been bad here too. I have a lot of plants under wire cloches but am trying a spray repellent as well. They eat my coneflower so hope they leave your pretty plants alone!
It looks great . Echinacea is a great plant, we plant it along with native Joe pye weed here and boneset along with pink milkweed in Vermont which is a great magnet for bees and butterflies
Jess your gardens look so beautiful! Things are really taking off and filling in. I love the new plants and so much fun to watch you plan it out! Enjoy your garden and get tips for my own little garden from you. Oh, maybe start looking for rabbit recipes! just kidding! Wonder if your county would relocate and maybe have traps you could use too.
Just beautiful!!! You should use that rabbit deterrent around all of those new plants, it looks like a rabbit buffet to me :( Love your voice it is beautiful!!!
Hi Jes!!! Lots of beautiful new plants!!! I love your Blue Point Junipers!!! Can you show them closer in the next movie? I just planted 12 little ones in my garden and would love to see how mine will look in a few years 🎉❤
Loved this video…where you planted flowers looks so good! Bunnies must be hungry this summer. Mine only go for fresh greens. I use liquid fence and spray back side of leaves where I can…think it lasts longer. Happy gardening.
I’m feeling the pain with the rabbits too. The destruction in my garden this year has been so disheartening. I wish you luck with your cone flowers mine have all gotten eaten to the ground I will not see a single blooms this year!
Love your yard. Hard work pays off. I have more bunnies this year. We’ve caught 4 and released them in forested areas. Unfortunately you have large trees in gully for them. 😅
Jes, thank you for your comforting words. I live about 45 miles from Nicole Smith, and am so glad to find her in my zone. Having an 8b gardener will be a big help. She has old trees and sustained more damage from Beryl than I did. We got the eye of the storm and lost wood fencing and lots of small branches. Some plants and bushes will need lifting and replanting because they are now horizontal. We have electricity now, but we do not lose our water like she does, and I actually had to turn the sprinklers on and hose water my pots yesterday. My grandkids and their kids live bear Detroit, and are getting rain from Beryl also! I enjoyed your plantings, and am going to find some of the Frankly Scarlett and yarrow for my beds.
Thank you so much, neighbor! I’m sorry to hear about your fence and plant. That’s awesome that you have electricity 🎉 We’re still waiting 😭 I’m just glad the rain and cloud cover have cooled us a bit. ❤
We need a rain like that! It's so hot and dry here in Montana, no matter how much I water, it's not enough! So weird how the bunnies have come to your yard after you never had problems with them before.
I cannot tell the amount of delphiniums I have bought and planted…all the ones I planted in the ground disappeared…I believe the moles got them. But all the ones I planted in containers have been fine for the last 8 years. I am in the PNW and our plant sales have been a joke this year. The prices are outrageous.
I bought a beautiful delphinium last year. Living north of Indianapolis, I thought it would survive the winter. But it was dead by spring. I am loving this rain. Thankful that we see more rain and less of the wind.
I'm trying more drifts and groupings of plants too. They have more impact! I wish you'd get a fox family in your woods! They'd take care of your rabbits! Have you thought of using cloches?
Wow, Jes, you hit the jackpot with all of these gorgeous flowers! I love the way you planted them, and I'm sure your neighbor will be thrilled to have this beautiful and colorful view! We live in Houston and are recovering from Berle. Power still is out, but we have a generator and are so thankful to God for it. 🙏🏼💗 I love your channel!
I use a flame weeder which has saved me so much time keeping the weeds in check! (Not the poison ivy though. That requires mechanical or chemical eradication.)
Nice plant haul! I am excited to watch that border on that side fill up like the gully. When it was raining looking from the garage out into the front lawn I was mesmerized by the beautiful colors set off by the lush deep green of the lawn! 😍
Delphiniums didn’t come back for me this year either, I live in Massachusetts. I see a bunny now and then in my yard , something ate my Aster to the ground and I’m sure it will not flower in fall ,I also had a houseplant on the ground , an Asparagus Fern und it got completely mowed down , that’s the garden life I guess , the gardens are exposed to the elements and the animals and wind took half of my beautiful Redbud “Flame Thrower”down just yesterday, it is what it is .
Wow, you truly are blessed to get all of those flowers so cheap!!! Lucky you! Your yard should be on the cover of Home and Garden magazine, it is so beautiful, you could be a landscape designer!
My goodness Jes, that was amazing to get all those plants that was awesome. Yes, you are certainly blessed. 😊❤ and for you to think of your sweet mama also you are so sweet . She'll love some of those flowers. ❤ thanks for sharing your movie 🎬 with us. Those crazy bunnies they are stinkers. Maybe you could put some more of that stuff down that deters deers and bunnies. 😊 anyways thanks for sharing all your plants with us. Love you 😍 and God's blessings to ya 😊❤
Oh my word! Those plants are amazing! And the price 😮 Wish I couldv’e been your shopping partner that day 😊 The sound of the rain was so refreshing and everything is so lush and green. Just beautiful. Here is Columbia, SC it’s hotter than hades (and I’m from FL and still say this) no rain, in a drought and doing all I can to just keep all the new plants alive 😢
I have some bunnies this year also in my garden that I have not had for several years, I have lots of flowers in my gardens but I haven’t seen anything that they have destroyed. I enjoy the bunnies so they can stay!
Hi Jes🌺 . Beautiful perennials ,the coneflowers are amazing as the blue delphiniums and lavender and heuchera and geraniums and sedum and you arranged them beautifully in the garden . Jes only the fence keeps the rabbits out of the garden Have a beautiful and sunny day .🌺🌻🌺
I love what you did!! The drifts look beautiful! Please tell me where the wagon is, I'll be in your area next week! I googled the greenhouse, i might try to make it there too! 😂❤
Plants in our area never go on sale unless they are half dead! They are very expensive! You are blessed. The heat in our zone 9A has been unbearable. Just keeping plants alive has been a challenge!
Hi Jess i have been following you for about 3 years now you are so bless you inspired me to start a hosta garden!😊 i love yours so much because i have a lot of shade in my yard!❤
Jes. Your garden is so beautiful you motivate me to get in my garden. Just want you notice. Your neighbors yard. Is what’s bringing those weeds in. I would recommend you put some edging to separate their grass from creeping in. It worked for me
I’ve noticed that if you go up north right now you will find the cheapest prices and plants I live here in Texas and everything is just regular price. Husband leaves out of town for work and he always goes to Lowe’s or Home Depot to pick up things because of his job he will call me and be like look plannts for 1 2 3 dollars . here in Texas We do not have those prices, but fortunately up north there is always cheap prices. I guess because of the cold weathers that you guys get I’m assuming that’s why the pricing are cheap anyway happy gardening 😊
Great choice of flowers and color. The reds are stunning! That bed will look glorious when all the plants grow and spread more. I love those delphiniums. Bought some small ones this Spring and put them on a container off the ground. Last time I had them a rabbit ate them to the ground. Hope they stay away from yours. I bought some beautiful hot pink geraniums and I'm going to try your dry storage method to Winter them over. Happy planting! 😊
Hi Jess. Is it just me. Your neighbours grass does not look fully mowed like last year. I never noticed the garden they have dine up against your garden
Nice haul. I wish they’d give us sale prices here. The most I’ve seen was 50% off which isn’t bad but for July, I think that’s high. Especially with the suffering near dead plants Anyways, I read somewhere to out cat hair nesr the plants the rabbits bother. Not sure if that is a wives tale or not. Max sure has some nice hair to share 😊
Jess, those bunnies are cute but sooo rude! Would it work to create a "buffet table" for them away from your plants? One of their favorites is clover...maybe seeding an out of the way spot would keep them in better check.
Why did your neighbor put that garden plot so close to your bed? Not taking care of it is rude. Plus the back yard needs care. I hope all is well with her. The flowers look awesome what a great score!maybe invest in a motion detector that has a dog barking sound to run off the rabbits. Happy gardening
Are those sales carts open to the public? Rabbits multiply horrifically....3 turns into 24 turns into 100 quickly, and they won't leave if their food sources are readily available, as in your garden. Recommend you relocate the three before the unthinkable happens! 😅
you could live trap some rabbits and take them to a nature area. i trapped 9 chipmunks a couple of years ago ant took them to a nature trail where i run. now i still see them all the time but they are not bothering my gutters and gardens. in my experience rabbits multiply quickly and you will have more next year.
