I absolutely love that you plant without all the rules and biotone and do this and don’t do that. Yet your yard is as beautiful as any of the sponsored youtubers. It makes me feel less stressed about my own beds.
Thanks! yes it can be overwhelming with all the information out there. I just try to be simple and watch my own garden and investigate for myself what works and what doesn’t. My grandma and mom never bought fertilizers or compost or any of that stuff and they had beautiful gardens. I try to plant things that love the condition of my garden just as it is! I do buy fertilizer every once in a while if it’s on sale but sorta just a once and done type of thing to get the plant going. :) ❤ have fun out there! You can do it! 🎉
She sure is. But Jes has always said she’s got really good soil & that’s the secret to happy plants…that & rain, which we down here in GA have not had. Ugh.

I'm 64 and my whole life Vicks vapor rub was a staple for colds or flu I have since learned rubbing it into the center of your feet and put socks on. It works so much better. Thanks to the Internet for bringing that knowledge. I love that orange geranium and the bouquets and bootineers looked like they were professionally done. You have that eye for beauty.
You are an incredible shopper Jess. I love that you always find a great deal on the plants and cement pieces you've been finding. And everything in your garden seems to be going for it this year. Great job on knowing your yard and what your plants need. 🤗💓💕💞
Your new bench is perfect. That area looks with the new beds !! The new geranium is sooo pretty. Seems as if everything you touch turns to gold ! You are the best sale shopper !!
As soon as you hung the fern and placed the bench, I thought they looked perfect! It’s so wonderful when you find something that works perfectly in the garden and makes you happy.
Just perfect sitting by that gorgeous new cut flower garden, watching a nesting bird in the sun and adding new additions all over. Just love it. So pretty Jes ❤🌸🌼💐
Yes Jes we love it, looks great, your place is absolutely beautiful, so fortunate with the weather you get. You have a lot of cement pieces now so nice.
Things are looking as beautiful as ever Jes. I dug about 15 or 16 holes while my granddaughter took a nap today in preparation for shade plants I have in their nursery cans just sitting & waiting to be planted & that’s when my sweet angel woke up & so I couldnt actually plant any of them today. However, tomorrow is a new day & her mother doesn’t have to work so I’ll be able to get them in the ground finally! I don’t think they’ve been there since Easter, but pretty close to it. Can’t wait to get them in the ground & hopefully it will just be maintenance from here on out (who am I kidding- we gardeners are never finished planting! lol 😉😁) oh! But on the vegetable front, I harvested enough green beans for a meal & im excited about that! 😃 I hope everyone has a great week and a very happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸 🎆 🍦 🪴 Love, from SW Michigan 😊♥️
I’m so glad you found some Hosta Liberty!! 🎉.. I was hoping you would try them. They don’t look like much now but once bigger they are gorgeous! My neighbors have some that are beautiful! I got some from them 😊.
Liberty is my favorite Hosta! I have three of them in my garden and they are gorgeous. You will love them. I started watching your movies for your beautiful hostas and I am hooked! I got so excited when I saw that you bought Liberty and have been waiting patiently to see you plant them. My heart is so happy 😊 I also have some of the hostas that are in your garden like Love Story, Drop Dead Gorgeous etc. You are my favorite gardening channel on RU-vid. ❤️
I KNOW that I shouldn’t be nosy but do you know what’s going on with your neighbors grass circle in their back yard ? 🌺💚🙃 Curious minds just got to know, because maybe it’s something that I might want to try ? 🌺💚🙃
Hi Jes, my garden friend. Please be careful planting baby's breath gypsophila it is known to be very invasive. It drops tons of seeds that blow around the yard and produce new plants. You must keep your eye on it! Your garden is so beautiful and I love your hard work and devotion!!!
The tiny bird is probably a wren…love their nature…can be bossy around your tomato plants…lol…had a little wren just jump up and down at me…as I picked tomatoes…you will enjoy watching her.
Hi Jes, I have four bluebird houses in my backyard and this year all four have sparrows. 😞 I think they are on their third round of baby birds. It took the bluebirds years before they built a nest in the first birdhouse. They came back the next four years but then the sparrows moved in. I fed the bluebirds mealy worms twice a day and they loved them. They would hear my back door close and knew I was going to put the mealy worms out for them. Enjoy! I hope next year you have bluebirds.
Wenkes Green house in kalamazoo is doing their cart sale for one more day. It's a two-tier cart of annuals for 60.00 they also have clematis in the cart sale also. I filled up the whole back of the car with everything I got. July 2nd is the last day.
Hi Jes, your gardens are beautiful, and so is your soul❤. What are the alliums called, by the bed where you planted baby's breath? They are so vibrant.
I just love the garden bench you just bought, it fits perfectly under that tree!! FYI, good luck with the bluebird house, we tried for several years, the wrens are mean little birds, they would fill the hole in the bluebird house with sticks so they couldn't get in, we would take the sticks out and they would put them back, finally the bluebirds beat them to it and had babies, we were so happy until my husband found the babies on the ground, the wrens we found out would throw the babies on the ground!! That did it for me, I have never put the house up again.
A sparrow will bully a bluebird and even kill them in the house. It’s happened with us several times. Take that nest out and leave the door open for a bit. The sparrow will never occupy that nest. It’s out of meanness actually. They just don’t want another bird in there.
Hi Jess you can also take cuttings of the geranium and grow it when the weather gets cold as a house plant, I overwinter mine that way under a grow light in the basement have fun trying it I love your cheerful personality. Blessings to you Erika
Love the bench and the hanging fern looked like a white ball of fire against the green trees and shrubs. I too divide plants and feel like I got a bonus. Love you colors and textures of your garden.
The raised garden bed transformation is gorgeous! The bench just brought it over the top! Love the tiger fern, dont think I’ve ever seen one like it. Your gardens are just amazing 🤩
Wrens are natural enemies of Bluebirds. They will put twigs in the bluebird house so they can not get to their eggs. I would keep a close eye on it. I would keep pulling out the twigs until a bluebird makes a nest, and then, if you see wrens around, make sure they are not blocking the whole or even destroying the bluebird eggs. I would read up on wrens versus bluebirds.
Vic🤣🤣🤣😆 I need that plant to keep deer away! You might want to steak you hanger because rain and wind might be a problem …it happened to me🤦🏽♀️your bench is perfect for that spot!
The hanging fern in your gully garden is a great added touch. I think you need another pop of Color on the opposite side. Love that cute bench too. You found the perfect spot. Great place to watch the wrens. They sound so nice. I had some nesting. But. Yes the sparrows took over. Everything looks great dear Jes. You’re the sweetest of all the gardening you tubers I watch. I had baby’s breath for years in my zone 3 garden. It also drys well.
Hi Jes 🌺. These plants that you planted are so pretty ,the fern looks amazing in this place and you can add more hanging baskets of ferns and supertunias or geranium . Have a great day.🌺🌻🌺
He’s, regarding the hanging fern u may want to consider taking that larger rock that was just barely in camera on the left when u stepped back and to look at the fern and put it on the other side of the Shepard hook where it goes into the ground. This will confer the weight. All is looking good good!
A perfect spot for the fern. I love it. I had one just like it a few years ago and didn't know it was called a Tiger Fern. I was able to overwinter it for one year and then I tried dividing it and I killed it. It is such a pretty fern.
Jes, your garden is gorgeous! I have never had any luck with babies breath. I LOVE Peter Cottontail Yarrow it loves the heat and it’s also pretty for filler flowers in an arrangement! I LOVE your new bench! So pretty! You put it in a perfect spot! The bunnies will see you in that garden more often and it might help them be good.😂🙌🏼
