A suggestion for when you display: You could showcase the form next to a pretty framed sign with a QR code linked to this video. If someone is inspired to create their own, they can scan the code with their phone and get the instructions. Thank you for being generous with your talents Laura and family.

I love how this dress form turned out! The swirl of succulents along with the placement of the birch, is a work of art! I was lucky enough to find a similar dress form that someone was throwing out last summer, and I planted it up in pattern using Hot Pink Lantana, White Knight Lobularia, Silver Falls Dichondra, Coleus and Sweet Potato Vine. I love how it turned out and can't wait to plant it again this year! Your ideas are always so inspiring!
@@StormWarningMom I drenched with a hose from the top of the neck down to where all spots where the plants had been inserted. I accidentally let it dry out a couple times...luckily it came back but I am sure the plants suffered. I want to try to figure out drip this year.

I LOVE it! The design is phenomenal…love the big touches and the birch branches really set off the flow of the design… your mom and her customers will be in awe! She ought to order some small wire forms or hat stands that adventurous customers might want to try…I am definitely seeing something on this order in the Hartley! Love that rabbit!

@@joydaniel597 when we lived in NJ near Philly, there were a couple that sold bushel basket size mums in the fall. It was spectacular! Now in Michigan there are a couple left, most went out of business because the land was valuable and the work was hard. Sad
This is simply outstanding. I am so inspired, I have a lot of metal frames outside that I have never thought of planting with something. This gets me so motivated to do something with scraps that would otherwise just rust and go to the landfill. Certainly a dress any gardener would buy. :)

As a retired couture dress designer I was eager to see what you would do with this project, combining two of my passions, design and plants. You did a fantastic job!! What a fun project! I'm sure many of us were inspired, as always, to find other ways to apply what we learned from this video!
WOW, so beautiful! I did that to my old “my double” dress form but I did it the hard way. Zip tied sheets of heavy duty burlap to the inside, stuffed it with potting soil, weighed a ton. I used Ivy for the skirt and succulents for the bodice with the hope that the ivy would cascade down and look like a skirt, but no……….the ivy is taking over the form and killing the succulents. However you’ve inspired me to “dress it up” this spring and rework the form. You are such an inspiration to me, you’ve no idea. I’m 74 and hopefully can garden for many more years. Thanks for all you do and sharing your knowledge and your family with all of us.

When you and your mom were on that shopping trip, I was curious as to how you were going to “plant” it! Well now I know! It turned out absolutely perfect! I think if you covered it completely in succulents it would have been too much, your creativity and flair for design are second to none! I had no idea that succulents could survive like that! I would have loved to have seen your moms face when you first showed up with it…I’m sure her smile was HUGE and she was just thrilled!

I’m sure I’m late to the party but there’s a wonderful lady I recently found on you tube who deals solely in succulents. Her work is inspiring like yours Laura. I thought everyone might want to check her out if they love succulents. Her name is Laura Eubanks and lives in Southern California. Your diversity amazes me and I actually think I might tackle a smaller project like this in the future. It’s hard to get my head around the fact that succulents don’t need roots and the cuttings will thrive with little water. Thanks Laura.

I had the pleasure of meeting you and Aaron at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show in Seattle in early 2020 before the crazy set in. This reminds me of all the beautiful flower gowns they had on display at that show. You could have entered this dress into the competition it so gorgeous!
