I like how only the American Reznov has sunglasses and kills the German soldier with a machete despite having a Thompson smg strapped on his side because Murica.
That soldier was just a German soldier not a Nazi, it's anoying when people call every German soldier in ww2 Nazis when basically none of the normal infantry was, it was the high up officers

I still remember the original feeling I had when I first beat this game long ago the Soviet Union anthem still since shivers down my spine and knowing what happens to Reznov later on in Black Ops 1 only makes what he says at the end of this game all that more heartbreaking
Nothing quite gives me chills like that end bit. The music buildup to the drop of the atom bomb, the silence that hangs as you watch, and the somber and hopeful summit & Gen. Eisenhower's speech. What a game, what a time, the men who fought in that Hell are heroes through and through
well the texture at least; is probably not made by the modder and was already in the game, but they just applied it to the flag or whatever magic they did
@@minelayer26 Well, now I know it. I just ask him recently this morning (his name in MODDB is warrior300 and he's also one of my modder friends) and this is what he said: "that texture is vanilla (aka original version) not custom". So yeah, AFGuidesHD guess it correctly.

And also you can have ROC retake Shanghai from communists as an alternate ending.

The flag of Republic of China still stands today. Unfortunately those under that flag today lost the courage of their forefathers and wish to be dogs of the Japanese.
Imagine the bone chilling moment the average soldier in the red army felt when they saw the Soviet flag over the Reichstag. Surviving the hell that was the eastern front only to go back home to a ruined and desolate home.
@Calvin Severus Keep in mind those aren't today's Russian soldiers, and are in fact soviet ones, most of them being peasants or farmers enlisted, so think before you say.

I like how the modders made more historical npc uniforms than the actual devs, like the german in the america mod is wearing a smock, low boots with gaiters and grey pants for that is what was issued during the later stages of the war. though i'm unsure what the white cloth he is wearing on his chest is, it is not mag pouches to an stg 44/mp 40. but maybe it is a bandage? Who knows.
The alternate ones feel like Hearts of Iron from the soldiers perspective. Germany actually taking Moscow, the United States reaching Berlin first and the Kuomintang and Imperial Japanese somehow establishing a foothold in Europe and fighting to preserve sovereignty in the region.
I think Reznov is as historic as Master Chief in the realm of video game characters. Both characters have left a significant impact on their respective game franchises and are beloved by fans for their memorable stories and personalities.
Imagine if we were tricked into thinking we were playing as russian only to realize that the flag we put was german and we were actually german all along😂 That way we could have a german campaign without that much of a backlash😂
A Stalingrad game set on the Axis side would be cool. You invade in Operation Barbarosa, you eventually get through the eastern portion of Russia. Then you try to push the Russians across the Volga, then you switch to a Romanian Soldier of the 6th Army being crushed by Soviet Tanks out in the countryside, and then back to Stalingrad fighting for survival. Then maybe, depending on how you play; you end up frozen to death, starved to death or end up in a Gulag and escape from Vorkuta.
Reznov's machete is not random. That model is actually the reglamentary in the red army, so it is a bit offsetting seeing the different factions using it.
Germany should've used the Hitler Youth Dagger (it's what I think of when I think of nazi combat knife), America a full on machete, Japan a katana, and idk what China would use.
@@zerophantomyt433 Reznov's character is meant to a "patriotic psycho" (And a war-criminal if you take a look at the things he does) so china would use somekind of farmer's knife and the USA a sharpened trench shovel since the machete is more a vietnam war thing.

I wish that it was possible to make full story campaigns from other parts of WW2 or alternate parts entirely on the scale of CoD2, Maybe even an Arma campaign, although arma do be clunky as hell
