In January 2024 the White Rose Forest supported and funded the planting of native trees across 42 hectares of marginal ex-grazing land on the Denton Park Estate near Ilkley in West Yorkshire. This work is part of wider regeneration plans to re-naturalise the landscape, sequester carbon and improve food production on the Estate. The White Rose Forest's Trees for Climate funding, part of the Government's Nature for Climate fund, covered all project costs, from design and regulatory approvals to ground preparation, fencing and planting. To find out more about funding available in North and West Yorkshire to cover 100% of woodland creation project costs, visit www.whiteroseforest.org.
