Plantronics RIG 600 Gaming Headset Review with Mic Test

Great review. Just a little thing for viewers to be aware of bass response can be boosted considerably (Xbox one only) by either getting the lx series 600 with bundled amplifier or by purchasing separately from Plantronics. If separate the amp is called lx1 amp. It plugs into usb at bottom of controller(u may be able to jury rig something to connect to PC but not sure) the amp also has independent game and chat volume wheels which makes adjustment easy. As a bonus there is another port for auxiliary input from phone or mp3 player to mix in music if u don't want to have to tab back and forth from game to music app to switch song(also keeps CPU free to process game and not music). I just got the amp for Xmas and it is a noticeable difference in quality of sound because is a digital to analog converter as opposed to Xbox native 3.5mm analog jack.

The 600's now come with dolby atmos if you buy them new. Dolby atmos is the new 7.1 SS, its 8D so if you're looking for a headset with Surround sound these are now a option if they come with the dolby atmos key. Everything besides the mic is great which is the only thing that lets this headset down. If you're looking for a basic gaming headset then i would say the quality, design and new dolby 8d is definitely worth it. If you're planning on doing any video recording its not the best headset due to the mic. 7/10. I would give it a 8.5 maybe even a 9 if the mic was better. Great review, they had this headset at EBgames mid year sale. This review sold it for me. Previous headset was a Logitech 430 which had great SS but was cheaply made and fell apart on me so i am very happy to buy something that is such high quality for a reasonable price.

This is a nice review however are you sure you tested the mics on the headset and verified that the recording actually switched to the correct mics because both sound identical and like you're using a mic from across the room, unlike the mic test in someone else's review which sounds completely different.

I got these a while back with dolby atmos included... They sound good, but not that much better than my old Plantronics Gamecom 380 headset (which were great for the price). My various studio headphones sound so much better though, but they require a seperate mic for online gaming.

My rig 500 broke so this review made me confident to upgrade to this

I bought these thinking that they were Dolby Atmos enabled, just to learn that it was the Rig 600LX that are. I’ve already paid to activate the Dolby Atmos App on my Xbox one S, will I get Dolby Atmos sound anyway?

I have this headset and my problem is that the cord is flat not round so when the cord twist. I have a wire sticking out of the cord now which is really annoying.

I just bought these as an upgrade from my Corsair HS50. I'm back to using my failing HS50. The Plantronics are terrible because they're super uncomfortable and keep pushing against my ears. They are impossible to wear for more than an hour. On top of that the height adjustment is quite limited and the cable is short.

how comfortable are these?

After 1 year of use the faux leather gets messed up both in the headband and the earcups. I used them for gaming, but even the AthM20X offer a better experience and they're not even gaming headphones. So I would look for something else in that price range.

its good to wear for hours and good sound. but mic end is a con. get complains from ppl on discord, about echoes and whenever i leave my phone close to the cable, they get "modem sounds" from me.

If your on lower budget than 100$, is suggest the Rig500hx, It's A Lot Like This But Much Better, The Rig500hx Is 60$ And Doesn't have As many flaws as the rig600hx. Edit:I mean, c mon, 40MORE BUCKS? The rig500hx is a fantastic headset, the Mic can pick up your voice and your voice only, you can flip up the Mic so it picks up no more noise, and if you have other feelings towards it, reply, I'd like to hear.....or read....idk

The headphones have really bad Total Harmonic Distortion (not a big deal but....''come on Plantronics, you can do it much better''), however they have nice balanced sound and amazing soundstage for closed back!

The "Traditional" adjustable head band is crap it eventually breaks at the pivot point... been thru at least 3 The clip in ear cups are much better .... I have the 500 at the moment the drivers are powerful but the 600 is weaker ...

mine broke after about a year just by putting them on my head. they are made out of cheap hollow plastic. i made a review mocking the build quality. the sound is great. but what good is great sound if they're fkn broken lol. Happy New Year don't buy them.
